Your article couldn't be more to the point. It seems that parents are oblivious to not only what their children are listening to but as you point out how loud they are listening to it. I did some research on this and found a company Earsound that made custom fit ear bud attachments for our iPods for both my son and I. My son is 13 years old. I now listen to my music at a level of 3-4 instead of 6-7 (on a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 being the loudest). My son listens a bit louder then me but I can no longer hear what he is listening to when he walks by me.
