I know of one- the cell phone goes off when they are in the car. If they get caught with the phone while driving, they loose the phone and the car. End of story, no non-sensical analyis needed here.

I change the mode into silence while I am driving, and put my cellphone in my bag ,so that I can totally focus on my driving. I think that's an effective way.

Do not allow a "kid" to drive with a device to text on his/her person. Period.

"Kid" can be defined as anyone from 1 to 150 years of age.

I have a gps that has a function on it that will shut off the gps after you reach a certain speed.

Why not Program this feature in to every phone but set it for 10 to 15 miles an hour permanently so you cannot change the settings.

As for monitoring Emails, If you have to monitor your childes email you must not be training them by example but say somethings adults can do like smoking and getting drunk and some things a child cannot do like have any sort of trust or privacy.

If your child or anyone else for that matter is going to trust you you have to also trust them.

Of course Hitler did not trust anybody and turned family against family and child against parents.

If that is America, you can have it. But the America I would like to know again is quite Different.

If you talk to your child and your child talks to you, you do not have to be a “patsy”

Although I rarely text under any circumstances, I do occasionally speed dial a number while driving. I've reconsidered that and the impression it might be making on my thirteen-year-old daughter in light of the fact that two women in our area have recently been charged with vehicular manslaughter (in separate incidents) as a result of texting while driving. My plan from now on is to pull over before calling, and to especially make an issue of this whenever my daughter is with me. It's worth both of our lives and the lives of anyone around us.
