im worried about my granddaughter she is only 6months and is so attached to me that when i put her in the car set to drive her the 45mls home she gets really quite and just looks out the window and refuses to look at me although when i pick her up she is so excited and often stays happy till her drive home.. mom and dad often work and dont pay to much attention to her and im always with her, is there a chance she has me confused about being her mother not her grandmother..does she really kno im taken her home...

When the mom is in the hospital giving birth I beleave she should be given a booklet that questions the environment is positive at the home where the baby supposely recieve positive balance life and if not then offer some services and programs to solve some of those issues that would help that home to be some what balance..For example take a class regarding whats a positive environment for the baby when they get home and what are the expectations...We need awareness in our society cuz is falling apart cuz of lack of communication and understanding...Now and days everything is hush hush thats not normal or thats embarrassing...No, everyone is differant and no one is perfect. We all learn differantly and we have to learn how to meet each individually needs so that each person can be productively...

I am a firm beleaver that babies can also suffer depression...I had 8 kids and as each of them grew up..I observe them individually and oh boy the had simalarities but each were differant..One in particular show no emotions and love to be by himself but I had PPD with him..However I had to force myself to brake out of feeling that way...As my son grew he turn into an alcoholic and became social and outgoing..one of my girls same simalarity as my son and she ended have manic depression, dissasociated, and axiety..All of my other children are alcholic and slowing down I guess cuz their adults with families.. We need an awareness alert and start getting education in this particular area..Its serious and real..babies as far as 6 months auffer depression..

my 6 month old baby doesnt smile, Even when i collect him from the nannie he doesnt seem happy to see me. he stares into space with no movement almost like a depressive state. I try and coo him but i get no reaction, no facial expressions. he always looks so sad Why is this?

i totally think kids have it better nowadays then i did when i was younger. I dont recall being a depressed toddler when my mom was workin 12 hour days and as a kid was pretty happy even when my mom got laid off. Kids arent perfect. I think diagnosing them with depression goes off. Treating them with rx so damn young! It's the hardships that teach a kid morals and value instead of being spoiled brats that think they can do whatever and have whatever with no disregard for their peers.

There are much more resources for toddlers and kids to do nowadays.

I know, In America, you don't know who to trust anymore. It's a very scary road we are headed. We have gone passed the highest point on the quality of life coaster and now we are headed down.

Toddler depression,okay, yes,absolutely!

They have lost their jobs, lost their homes, going thru a divorce, please...

Folks, is way too much non-sense, I'm moving to Mars, just like Dr. Manhattan.

If you want to see a good example of depression in young children (some under the age of one) basically always treated with psychiatric drugs, Google or look at Florida Foster Care records for Medicaid to see how many many infants and toddlers are being drugged with no parents to say no or get jailed if they say no after their infant or toddler has been labelled depressed or more accurately mentally ill. These articles are just the pharceutical/psychiatric industry's push to broaden the lucrative market for their drugs to concerned inadequately informed parents.
