Another invented alphabet disease. Teenageism is a non-curable disease by anything but time to outgrow it.

I wish you'd been around when I was a teen. Sadly, by then, I'd already experienced s few clinical depressive episodes, relating to sexual and emotional abuse. Worse, childhood depression wasn't really recognized as a problem back then. Your commenter who likened it to flu all the time should try the "black hole" I lived with most of my life. Flu would have been a relief! I still suffer with chronic dysthymia, and occasional bouts of deeper depression. I have learned about the thoughts vs feelings aspect and interrupting them, but problem-solving was a skill I never quite mastered, even in math classes. If your therapy cam break the cycle for kids now, good for you!
