oh, but, geez- what is this? too many doctors so let's create more diseases... more "syndromes" to justify higher salaries. I mean, really, must we?

Stop the sodas, vitamin waters and all the sugar laden drinks. Stop shoving yogurt and Otis Spunkmeyer muffins down kids as a poor excuse for a "healthy" lunch, stop feeding them sugary garbage for breakfast - THAT is how we stop metabolic syndrome and subsequently diabetes! 4 gms of sugar = 1 tsp. Most of our kids are getting 40 to 80 tsp of sugar per DAY, our bodies were meant to handle maybe 2 to 4 at best. When they can concentrate sweet in high fructose corn syrup and add it to everything we eat, it's no wonder we are fat and diabetic. The two go hand in hand. There is no mystery as to why our kids are obese and have health problems. It really isn't lack of exercise as much as it is sugar!!
