Why does the information the citizens need to prepare ourselves and be informed always end up on the back page ??

I for one believe that Americans can handle the truth and the truth is what we should get from our Government and the News Media.

Mrs Shutes,

Can we have a new story or article. There have been outbreaks of bird flu or H5N1 in viet Name, Nepal, India and China with 13 cases and four deaths just since January. Source:

http://www.who.int/csr/disease/avian_influenza/country/cases_table_2009_02_18/en/index.html

People are making plans for spring blood drives, just before memorial day. As people prepare for tornado and hurricane season they can prepare for bird flu.

"As for travel" the "US State Department H5N1 factsheet" has said, since July 2006, that:

Americans may be stranded at any time by Pandemic outbreak, perhaps "for the duration" of Pandemic, and, will receive,

"No" food, water, nor medicine from US embassies.

(Too bad that didn't get the airtime 'the switch to digital tv' has had. The travelling US public is in for a nasty surprise.)

(Japan's Defense Ministry however, has just announced govt jets will rescue stranded Japanese, and they plan some sort of entry quarantines.)

Meanwhile, the human H5N1 cases/clusters continue; see the "Recombinomics" site, under, "What's New".

How can you keep your family "safe" from something contaigious-before-symptoms, 100% fatal untreated in time with an effective antiviral (and your govt only planned to have antivirals for 25% of the population anyway) during long-forseen supply chain disruptions, and, what the APHA says (to itself), will be, "extended" periods of, "abject conditions"?

Have you looked at the free resources, partly in response to the Dept of Homeland Security's "Best Practices and Model Protocols" (April, 2007) document which states, since we have few other options, they may "direct" the public to protectively sequester themselves, "at home for up to 90 days per wave", concerned citizens have made available for anyone on GetPandemicReady.org ?
