I have had abnormally high Cholesterol levels for years!

I was on Lipitor and had to take heavy daily doses!

My liver developed bleeding problems!

Beware! Too heavy a dose of Stains can do extreme harm to users unless monitored by qualified doctors!

There are alternatives!

IN JAN. 2009, ADVISED TO USE CRESTOR. AFTER 6 WEEKS, WAS LOSING STRENGTH IN MY HANDS. STOPPED, AND WENT BACK TO NORMAL . NEXT VISIT TO MD, ADVISED TO CUT PILL IN HALF, AND CONTINUE TO USE. SAME WEAKNESS CAME BACK AND STOPPED TAKING AFTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS' USING CRESTOR. A MONTH LATER, FELT PULLING IN ONE EYE. APPOINTMENT W/OPTHALMOLOGIST/NEUROLOGIST, WHO GAVE ME "PRISM OVERLAY' ON ONE LENS, WHICH HELPED. THEN WENT ON TO HAVE THAT ONE LENSE GROUND W/PRISM. NOW GOING ON 7 MONTHS, & WAITING TO RESOLVE, HOPEFULLY ON ITS OWN.

MY INTERNIST, AND OPHTHALMOLOGIST DOUBT CAUSED BY CRESTOR, BUT CAN'T TELL ME WHY DIPLOPIA DEVELOPED.

You forget things, names etc. I had it bad when I was on a statin. I stopped and it went away. I then went on another statin and same thing happened. Same thing happened to my Dad and others but they deny it causes it. It wasn't even on the side effect list in 2006 but it is now. Now this guy from astra zenica wants people top take it even if they don;t have the condition it treats? Such a joke.

When the manufacturers of Crestor fund the research one must take the rsults 'with a grain of salt'.

I used to take Crestor but as it is mentioned, there are side effects other than the risk of diabetes. I would only recommend to take Crestor under Doctor supervision.

The diabetes effect is explained in the attached paper.

There are also significant problems with dementia when myelination is inhibited by statins over the long term. This drug is not tested long term and data is not collected about long term ADRs although I understand the FDA may have very thick files of Statin ADRs by now.

As with all other statin trials the results of the JUPITER trial were grossly exaggerated. Crestor only reduced the risk of dying by 0.55%, but at the same time Crestor also increased the risk for diabetes by 0.6%. There is a lot of information about this on the website www.29billion.com ($29 Billion Reasons to Lie About Cholesterol)
