Men Are Victims of Domestic Violence, Too

I was arrested in late 2005 for criminal domestic violence of a high and aggrevated nature(because she was pregnant it was high and aggrevated). Due to no evidence they dropped it to a regulae CDV, the arresting officer even got on stand and said that there were no marks on her and she refused medical attention. I should have spoken up but I was I was assamed to say that I was the victim: She had taken a crowbar to my chest and I was bruised pretty badly. I got custody of my daughter in 2008, and do not receive any support from my ex. In 2009 she assaulted my during a visitation exchange, my mom and step-dad witnessed it. I called the police out to where it happened and filed a report. The police department told me they would not file charges because they did not she where she hit me, and later told me that I needed to grow up. I guess working my a** off and taking care of my daughter was not enough for the police. Even if you do report it the cops do nothing because your a man. The government has betrayed us and given men NO rights.

I totally agree with all these comments, I too have been falsly imprisoned for two years due to her lieing. Believe me if congress would get there stories streight they might not take sides with women. Hang in there and don't plead guilty too a lesser charge...things get worse on you are considered a criminal and especially for domestic violence convictions finding a job is especially hard...they think your going too beat up all the women who work in a female inviornment.

Men are abused, and I am a survivor of domestic violence by my now ex-wife. The justice system has done so many injustices agaisnt me that it has tried to destroy my life. I have had 7 animals get killed, brakes cut, gasoline thrown on my house, phone lines cut 26 times and eventually my house burnt with me in it. The justice system here turns it on the man. Men can not be victims, so in turn not only do we as men loose but my 2 boys have too. I have contacted the Senator, Governor and Congressman, but all say that it is out of their hands or refer me to domestic violence shelter or advocacy. How is this bringing awareness that men are victims, when will this stop, what when I am dead. Where is the HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where do I turn, what resources is there?

I've dealt with a very controlling and jealous wife for years. She has called the police several times and I've been arrested and was always found not guilty. Either due to her not appearing at court or either admitting the truth. Never thought it would get to this point. On 7 July 2008 she took it a step further when she decided to make up a horrible incident to the authorities. Am facing several felonies which I didn't committment. I've had to use all of my savings to make Bond and it's like am getting no where. I lost my job for being arrested. I was scheduled to go back in the US Army as a Recruiter but that has also changed due to the arrest and not being able to go in with open charge. She has made up so many lies that it's unreal. I've been discharged from the Reserves and lost another job offer due to me needing to be in the US Army Reserves to have this position. Everything has been turn completely upside down in a day. Have legal representation from a public defender which seems like I'm representing myself. I have everything to support my case but it's like the justice system makes you wait even when they know the warrant as well as the incident report and the victim statement doesn't adds up. I need help if there is anyone able to understand how you came become the victim when they claim you are the suspect.

Almost 3 months ago to the day, I called 911 and reported that it was a domestic violence issue. When the police arrived, they arrested me even though my wife had bitten me and hit me with a 15 pound dumbbell. When I told them what happen they didn't believe me. They are attempting to charge me with felony assault. A trial has been set for early September because I refused to accept a plea deal. I refuse to accept responsibility for something I did not do.

My wife has been verbally abusive for years, but it has escalated to physcial abuse in resent years. She has given me black eyes, bloody noses, and fat lips and often done this in the presents of our two children. Since this last incident I have filed for divorce. I am plan to make domestic violence against men an issue that is recognized today. It is all too often not taken seriously and I am fed up with it. I am a medical social worker and when I was in school, domestic violence as it pertained to women was all that was ever discussed. That's a bunch of crap!!! It time to set things straight.
