I HATE WALGREENS ITSZ A WASTE OF TIME FOR ME.;; DESTROY STUPID ASS WALGREENS.

No country has free health care - it is all paid for by the taxes that citizen's pay out of their hard earned working dollars - just as we do here in the U.S. when each paycheck is deducted for taxes for Medicare, Medicaid, the Veterans Administration, uncompensated care, etc. If we had Medicare for All here in the US, it would come out of our taxes, just as is does now for the program but it would be for everyone, not just people over age 65.

I never understood how people think this is free - or socialized. England has socialized medicine because their doctors and hospitals are employed by the government. If we have Medicare for All, people could go to the doctor and hospital of their choice - no more limitations would be imposed arbitrarily by insurance companies who now dictate which doctor you can see, which service they will pay for.

I look forward to people gaining a better understanding of the Medicare for All system that is being proposed for the U.S. A bill in Congress, H.R. 676, would implement this type of system and finally, finally get rid of the greed and profit of the private health insurance industry which add absolutely nothing to the provision of actual medical care. They exist to turn a profit for their stockholders and the only way they can do that is by keeping as much of the money they take from us in premiums as possible and by paying out as little as possible for medical services.

I agree that everyone should have access to health care. Jaan-Matti may not be completely accurate that people in Europe pay nothing for their health-care. Of course someone has to pay, but I think a more realistic evaluation of European systems would show that some sort of co-payment is required for most services. I am in favour of affordable rather than free!

This does nothing for those of us laid off prior to their start date. For those of us in this situation we better hope and pray nothing happens to use. when I was laid I received a cheerry letter from my insurance company telling me that for just under $1000 per month I could continue coverage. that was only about 75% of my monthly unemployment.

As americans we need to begin staging mass demistrations accross the country demanding equal access to medical care much like the civel rights movement of the 60's. We need to outlaw "healt insurance companies" because they are doing great harm to this country and only help thus who are in good healt.

Im sorry, but the U.S. healthcare system is just awful. I live in Europe and as I'm reading this, im getting chills. How is it possible that you have to PAY for medical care in the first place? If I have an ache I go to the doctor and I dont even have to think about money. Im just so sorry for all those people who have lost their jobs and with it, their medical insurance.

Why dont you just socialize your medicine like everywhere else in the western world? This medcal insurance-thing is awful, even for a by-stander. You dont pay a police officer or a firefighter to come and help you...thats all socialized. I hope those crazy politicans never invent a Firefighter-insurance in your country. ,,Im sorry, but we cant put out your burning house - your'e unemployed and you dont have insurance. Bye'' How wrong is that??

BUT this applies only to those people who lose their jobs after March 31, 2009. That is absolutely no help to all of the people unemployed prior to that! For those thousands of folks it is "too little, too late". If the stimulus programs really work, the jobs being lost will slow. Still those who lost their jobs last year receive not benefit from this and other programs.

That takes care of healthcare for everyone. Not comprehensive, but better than nothing and costs taxpayers nothing.

Such visits can relieve emergency rooms of such minor ills and concentrate on real emergencies and not have to pass along major charges for minor ills as they have to do now.
