Change is the inevitable! A broken system needs hands on attention. The problem is that the average Senior lacks a real understanding of the healthcare system. I specialize in the Senior market and advise 3 to 5 seniors a day about what kind of coverage is necessary to fully protect themselves. Most seniors are oblivious to unforeseen costs that they may be faced with as life throws them its curve balls. A word to the wise, all who are curious and want the best for themselves and there loved ones. Think Long Term Care Policy / Med Sup (Plan J) Contact me anytime for more info.

Not only does the average senior have to pay about $300 per month for their share of medical and prescriptions, but if you receive Social Security and have income of over $25,000 per year you are taxed $1 for every three dollars over that amount and more if over $36,000. Seniors have paid into these systems all their life, and now are being penalized and short changed.

Written like a true lobbyist for the medicare program... These special interest folks are all worried that they will have to become accountable under the new plan. For years the fraud in Medicare has been rampant and gone for the most part unchecked. It has cost the American Taxpayer Hundreds of Millions of dollars and has been out of control for more than 2 decades. What they really do not want is to watched and become accountable. Part 2 of this is he is going after the wealthy who make $85000 and more per year not the working class. That the free ride is over and the money will be put to use for the middle class and those on Social Security who can hardly even afford Milk and Bread will get the benefits seems quite correct to me. This article is written by a wealthy Republican looking to keep thier very lucritive job it seem to me....

Has Obama looked at the current prescription drug coverage? Currently the way that your usage is calculated is: They take the amount you pay and the amount the insurance pays and that counts against you. You can go to $2,500 using these two figures before you hit a hole where they pay nothing up to $3,400. This drug coverage is a scam if I have ever seen one. No matter what they say, there are many drugs that you cannot use a generic brand! He needs to know what the plan is before he starts cutting it.

Obama and his band of socialists will mess Medicare up like every other thing they touch. You can bet on it.

I have experienced healthcare in several countries. All were better than here.

No worries about proving insurance. Care is quicker (yes - in spite of propaganda you hear here) and everyone gets care when needed. If you don't like the standard program, you can get supplemental insurance to upgrade service. You are spared the barrage of invoices overbilling, adjusting, receiving payment, etc. from doctors you saw, doctors you didn't see but somehow were involved, payment centers of companies that provide services, testing facilities and anyone else involved. Your medications never cost more than a fixed co-pay that is affordable, preventive care is typical, offices are close by, and there is no ceiling amount for covered expenses. Everyone is covered, even if you are between jobs. No such thing as a medical bankruptcy in the rest of the industrialized world - just here.

No system is perfect. Not theirs. Not ours. But ours now is only good for those who have lots of money, and /or work for an employer who provides coverage. Everyone else - many working folks - is not covered. Over 40 million Americans.

We offer education to everyone because it is for the general good of the nation. I have no children, and have been paying school taxes for decades. Police and fire protection are offered to all residents based on the theory that if all are covered, everyone benefits. Over a million people are in prisons in this country for the common good. Why wouldn't we be willing to look at health care the same way?
