Having medicare and a supplemental insurance plan did not keep me from going bankrupt and my house in foreclosure. What now, I cannot even afford my prescription.

Need for AFLAC?

Let me give you an example….

Let’s say that you or your spouse or kids were diagnosed with cancer. If it was you, obviously you are unable to work for a few months but if it was your spouse, needless to say you wouldn’t continue to go to work and pretend like nothing is wrong.

So it has now been 4 or 5 weeks since you have worked and you are just about out of money. You aren’t being paid by your company because you aren’t working and obviously your spouse isn’t working either.

You have 2 children though who despite things being tough financially, still want to eat. Can you believe those kids… always asking for more (joke). So you go to the grocery store, collect all your groceries and take them to the checkout line. The cashier rings you up and says “the total is $150”. So you reach into your wallet and you hand him your Blue Cross Blue Shield Card and say “here, just put it on this.”

Then you get home and get the mail. The bank has sent you the payment stub for your mortgage which they expect to be paid by the end of the month. No problem though, you pick up the phone, call the bank, and say “can you please send the mortgage bill to Blue Cross Blue Shield, my spouse was actually in an accident”.

Then the next day the mail comes and the same thing happens… only this time it’s the car payment. Same thing though… call the bank and say “you can just send this bill to Blue Cross Blue Shield”, my spouse is actually not doing too well right now.

Folks, I realize that this example is a little bit funny and very sarcastic, but it is imperative that you understand what AFLAC does.

AFLAC allows you to continue your current lifestyle and pay your bills whether you are working or not. The bills we have to pay are the reason that we go to work in the first place. If we had no bills, we probably wouldn’t work. However, those same bills must be paid whether you are working or not. That is what AFLAC does!

We don’t care about doctors or hospitals. All we care about is you and making sure that you have enough money to survive while you are unable to go to work. Making sure doctors and hospitals get paid is someone else’s problem.

"yet it is a law that you must have car insurance. "

That was incredibly stupid. Car insurance is to pay mainly pay for damages you cause to other people and property, most just happen to get protection for their own vehicle too. There are also states that do not require car insurance.

My son has been very ill for 4 or 5 years. It started with cyrocis of the liver then a disease called chagas. This disease destroys the organs and now he has developed T cell lympoma. We are retired and are in our late 70' and we have spent literally thousands of dollars on the other medical needs. He does not have medical insurance and it is hurting us very badly. Is there anyone out there that can help us or tell us who to contact for help? Many thanks. He has been told he has approximatly 5 months to live. Please help us.

Please excuse misspelled words.

It seems to be more of a problem of insurance than medical care.

There are cancer drugs available at an enormous price that can contain or shrink cancer. Cost $90,000 a year. Many people can not afford this.

The drug manufactures have enough money to advertise on prime time all three stations, NBC, CBS and ABC. In America, people can not get insurance for pre-existing conditions, yet it is a law that you must have car insurance.

The drug companies have lobbyists that promote their cause. Fall into the donut hole and you will make a choice heat or food or medication. Old Age is not for sissies. If you have a child with cystic fibrosis, type 1 diabetes, cancer, etc. he or she will be unable to get insurance. I believe illegal immigrants get better coverage than some Americans.

Drug companies would lose money if cures are found.
