Noel, i'm looked at the vitalsavings, might be worth it. Sounds pretty good. Amelia, i actually found a similar but little better site. Try http://smarthealthbuyer.com, it gives dental prices and reviews, but also gives prices for other things like optical, chiropractic, and other medical needs. Might as well try and save money on more things too

Avoid the dentist Frank you are clearly too clever to be deceived by outrageous pricing. Some folks deserve the pain of ignorance. Never mind that the dentist has to cover the cost of protecting against slimey attorneys and frivolous suits, hundreds of thousands in dental school costs and the other exhorbitant expenses of doing business. Perhaps you could also try Mexican dental care where disinfection is optional to save a buck or two. I suggest you whine and complain to the dentist next time you are there as well. Chances are they do know how to miss the nerve with the anesthetic.

Aetna Vital Savings gets you the negotiated fee that Aetna pays for services. It basically pays for itself if you get your 2 cleanings per year and you start saving on anything beyond that (fillings, etc.) It also gets you pharmacy discounts and vision care discounts at participating optometrists.
This is better than all those discount plans you've never heard of. Aetna is a real insurance company with a very large and trustworthy network.

I totally agree that one of the best ways to reduce your dental costs is to do get a regular cleaning twice a year. I dont know how many people i know that dont go to the dentist until they have an aching tooth, instead of doing preventative care. I have friends that use this site called http://www.dentalpricecompare.com. It gives the average price for different procedures based on your zip code, that way you can see if your paying a bit much for that root canal your dentist says you need

SEVERAL YEARS AGO I HAD MY TEETH PROFESSIONALY CLEANED.I HAVE DENTAL INSURANCE. HOWEVER THE BILL CAME TO $87. THE GIRL COMMENTED ON HOW CLEAN MY TEETH ALREADY WERE. SHE TOOK ALL OF 12 MINUTES TO DO THE JOB. AT $87 THAT COMES TO $7.25 PER MINUTE, OR $435 PER HOUR. I THINK THAT IS EXCESSIVE. AS FAR AS CLEANING GOES, I CAN DO THE JOB JUST AS WELL AS THE PRO.
