Find Medicare Part D Confusing? You're Not Alone

Bush tried to convince the nation he was doing seniors a big favor by creating Medicare D. What he didn't really tell everyone was Medicare D was created for the benefit of the insurance/pharmaceutical companies because they are the only ones benefiting from Medicare D. As a disabled female forced to take Medicare D was again forced to pay $58 a month plus, paying for prescription until I met the $275 deductible plus my co-pay. Where is the "Great Deal" for the seniors in that. The younger generation is told seniors get everything free, well, I have to tell you this -- free my butt. I worked for almost 50 years when i got sick so I paid into my Social Security and Medicare all those years. And, we are still paying...thanks to Bush and his greedy corporate buddies in the industry. Not even some of the professors at the University could make heads or tails out of the Medicare puzzle but that is what the industry planned for. Get RID OF MEDICARE D!

It takes me days to iron out the best and least expensive program for my wife. I am in VA and all indications point to staying there. A prime example of a system gone bad with regard to the use of drugs VIA the companies and the medical profession has just (Again) reared its ugly head. One week ago I went to a doctor for infections in my ears, having completed the exams I was given an RX to be filled. I dropped my wife at the drugstore and went home to get something. When I returned she was waitng for me to tell me the Antibiotic , ear drops and nasal spray were $520.00, I almost had a heart attack. Needing them immediately I could not go to VA another problem with VA. I told her to wait and went back to the doctor. I told him are you crazy, $520.00. If I have to have I will but man you have 3 additional refills. I do not have insurance and it takes forever to get into to VA for approval. QUOTE: " I did not know you didn' have insurance" I will call pharmacy and change to another ear drop, QUOTE: "It will be the same." It still cost $226.00 but the $300.00 was scratched. I am 74, my wife is 73 and 5years of me fighting cancer has placed a financial burden on our very existence not that anyone in Public office or the medical field cares. When seniors lose all the savings they have earned and worked for the Government will have an even bigger task taking care of them instead of helping to keep them a float and contributing to society. Listen to us not to each other.

Take a good look at Medicare D. It is the pilot program for what John McCain would like to do to all health insurance in America. Excuse all employers from the risks, and let them get out of the employer group business. Make every person and family be on their own to buy a policy from some corporation with the insurers free to uprate, refuse or cancel anyone who has ever had a "condition", including, of course, genetic predispositions (with pre-application DNA tests required to protect insurers.) Privatize to the hilt so insurers can ignore state legislative coverage mandates and sell any terms and clauses over state lines. Give already-wealthy people generous tax credits and otherwise subsidize the corporations, but not the patients. No cost protection for citizens. No underwriting protection for citizens. No cost control on the built-in overhead of"competitive" marketing, the usefulness of which will come to resemble the AFLAC duck and the GEICO gecko.

Medicare D confusing and risky? You ain't seen nothing yet. I'm not kidding.

America is near a turning point on the whole health care issue, and corporations are going to try very hard to turn it "their" way. We are fools if we let it happen.
