I had a knee pain ,from my back side and on the sides,i could not bend the knee at all ,whenever bend it i get sharp pains and it really pains which i was unable to walk

a friend of mine works for an orthopodist she adviced me to take ice bag and place it behind the knee and i bend the knee at the same time for ten minutes after that she gave me deep heeat cream to apply and the next day i was ok,altho the treatment does not work there and then

I have have pain to the rear if my knee and centre of calf. My knee feels tight when I bend it. When I rest it and then stand up and move around, it's extremely painful until I warm it up. The. If I go for a long drive it ok, but when I get ut of the vehicle and start to walk, it;s extremely painful until I warm it up. As I stated, it's behind my knee and a little lower to the calf muscle.

The article did give some great information about muscles - especially the illiopsoas. Many people have tightness there. I have found that much back pain is also caused by a tight piriformis muscle, which in turn causes pressure on the sciatic nerve and the resulting pain is excruciating and shoots down your leg. The piriformis stretches between the tailbone and hip, so when it tightens up, it tries to pull them together. It's an easy muscle to self massage. Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Place a tennis ball or your fist in the middle of each buttock, then inhale and let your knees slowly fall to the right, then as you exhale, use your abs to pull your knees back to center and repeat to the opposite side. This rocking back and forth on your fists massages the tightness out of the muscle and feels really good. Stretching will also help. More info can be found at www.HealthyBoomerBody.com

I fouond that doing exercises for the leg muscles is v ery important and also doing Stretching. It does help to avoid hurting your again.

There's definitely good advice in the article, particularly on not rushing straight to an orthopedist at the first sign of back pain.

My particular interest is back pain in computer users. The article rightly suggests using a good chair and describes part of the reason why sitting at a desk all day can lead to back pain. It doesn't really mention, though, that it's almost as easy to sit in a poor posture in a good chair as it is in a bad one.

The solutions are pretty common sense: As with most health problems, staying active and at a healthy weight will have big benefits. A good chair is great, but you need to set it up properly to suit you, and make sure you sit in it properly. And you need to take regular, short breaks away from your computer - get up, move around, maybe do a few stretches, whatever you need to get your blood flowing and reduce fatigue.
