I believe that Oprah puts herself under inordinate pressure by publicizing her struggles with weight. Oprah needs to take a deep breath and come to a resolution as to what kind of food lifestyle she can realistically live with. Because the yo-yo dieting Oprah has been doing is quite dangerous, especially for the heart. Also, gastric bypass surgery can be dangerous.

Yes, Yes, Yes. Oprah in a sense has self-promoted over her last 18 years with the up and down weight thing. But, I really do think she has a personal problem with it that is shared by millions of women and MEN.

To the extent she helps us all focus on getting lighter, she does a national service. We should do so well as to adopt pound sharing data as a pastime. It would give us more collective benefit, for instance, than fantasy football.
