This gang from Chicago has lost total credibility!!

If he is serious on reform, then do the following:

As a minimum, the following elements should be included:

* TORT reform – a real driver of costs!

* Health Savings Accounts to allow individuals to at least be partially responsible for their OWN health care.

* Inter-border health insurance sales

* Targeted language for fraud, waste and abuse of MEDICARE and MEDICAID.

* New initiatives to provide scholarships for doctors and nurses to pursue medicine to preclude a further shortage of doctors and nurses. Folks, there is no need to develop a ‘Health Care System’ if you do not have a viable delivery system.

* Language that will permit government funds for health care be only expended for US CITIZENS.

If he is not serious, then update his resume for 2013, for he will be looking for new employment!!

These are not scare tactics but parts of an insane bill being prepared to become a law in this nation. The IRS has no business regulating anything about health care; a political task force has no business deciding what medical care we need or don't need; and we don't have to look to Britain to see what happens to medical privacy in a large data base, only as far as the VA right here in the US. It's already been breached. We don't need gyms, but vision and dental care are part of good health. One can exercise without a gym. This mess is a disaster for all Americans, and needs to be scrapped and started over in a sensible and sane manner, without the insurance companies and pharmaceutical manufacturers dictating the structure of such a bill! We need an overhaul of the costs of acquiring health care, not forced enrollment in a 1 size fits all plan, and politicians determning whether some procedure or test is necessary or not. They aren't trained adequately to make such judgements. This is a perfect example of what we can expect, now that big business legally owns the US government by Supreme Court decision!

Send my tax bill to the people that want this particular health bill. Also, I should not be fined because I do not want their health care. Get me a job and I will purchase my own health care.

more fear and scare from the right!

There must be many other flaws to the health bill once it is implemented. However, I must point out that this article gives the impression that people has to pay an extra bill for health care. Yes, to some. People who already have insurance from their jobs do not need to pay this bill. People who do not have insurance will have to pay an extra bill, but your health is covered.

One more bill to pay and many would crack, in this economy where money for one extra comes off the kitchen table. To find someone for not having money to pay one more bill is CRAZY. It is bad timing for this bill. It will drive many many under.

So they want to make a national database of my health records but are opposed to a national list of traffic crimes associated with a national ID. I mean it seems like they want to increase govt control over our lives but then say that national id is imposing on free will.

Your commentary seems highly biased to me. No mention of the benefits of the plans, which are numerous, or the adverse effects of the present system, which can be deadly to our citizens when they get sick, and can leave even the insured bankrupt when they recover.

I sorry your article missed one: I'm a Democrat who voted for the Health Care bill and the massed just did the first public hanging in MA election. How do I now say I was never for the bill in the first place. Becuase I'm a YELLOW Bastard and i want to stay in office. I heard one of them say that the American people spoke! Hey Jack ass didn't you hear us in all thoseTown Halls! Your govermenrt health care should pay for hearing aids so get some. If these are the retards we have in office. They need to go one by one REID! YOUE GOING DOWN BUDDY! Why don't you all hold hands and sing We will over come as we vote you out of office.

That's the one point you missed in your article.

As though the considerable risk of being turned down or turned out as soon as you get really sick or laid off is a better "freedom" opportunity for you and your family. That's what the corporations, including their spokespersons like Dr. Healy, would have you believe.

Remember, the MANDATE for all to have coverage is/was the corporate insurers' requirement in exchange for them to agree to cover you without retaining their right to turn you down at underwriting or just cancel you after you've paid in a while.
