Why Doctors Take Issue With Obama's Health Reform Plan

Let's also not overlook the high price physicians pay just to become a doctor. My husband is in residency to become an anesthesiologist. He spent 8 years and $200K in medical school, just to go into a 4 year residency program making $40K/year, all while working 90 hours + per week, resulting in missed birthdays, holidays, vacations and other family functions. If health care reform is to be successful, the medical education system also needs to be revamped, making it more affordable for people to go to medical school. If not, it won't be worth it to take on hundreds of thousands in debt, just to be overworked and underpaid.
