Honestly a health overhaul is probably the best way to go. Health isn't just one factor but a combination of choices we make every day. By not changing one aspect you may end up lowering how effective other changes may be. For example, say your usual calorie intake is about 3,000, you lead a sedentary lifestyle and you smoke. You reduce your calorie intake to 1,800 and start jogging twice a week for 30 minutes. Six months later, you're still jogging for 30 minutes twice a week because you feel like you will die by the end of your run so you stop running. You’ll still end up losing about 10 pounds which will never come back. However, in 10 years from now you’ll be diagnosed with emphysema. While it’s an extreme case, it can happen. Not changing everything will lead to smaller changes
