Thank you for this information about the risks of the CT scan. Is there information on the radiation from body scanners? I worry about the TSA workers who stand next to the machines all day.

You might want to see more on early detection of lung cancer at www.HelloHaveYouHeard.com. We've developed a simple blood test for early detection for high risk patients (long term smokers/former smokers primarily) which has now been commercially available for almost 2 years. The company is Oncimmune and the test is EarlyCDT-Lung. It is covered by Medicare and private insurance.

www.xrayrisk.com has more info on radiation and cancer risk including an online calculator that lets you calculate radiation dose and estimate cancer risk from CT scans, x-rays and procedures. The site also allows users to log-in and track their imaging history.
