Is Low-Dose HRT Safe for Menopause Symptoms?

Hi, I am 64, and had a prolonged experience with peri-menopause, and then continued difficulty with years of hot flashes. I chose not to take hormone replacement because of problems with my breasts (turned out non-cancerous, but still scared me). For two years now I have been spared hot flashes except now and then. Now I am dealing with thinning hair and skin, aching joints and deep wrinkles. I feel fine with being my age, but the aches and pains are interfering with my daily life, and my looks are engendering unwelcome treatment by others, who I know see seniors as past usefulness. Now and I am wondering if I it is too late to do anything at my age to slow down the side affects of ageing? Am I too old for HRT and is it even safe? Are herbals such as black cohosh safe, or effective for my age group?

Take these at your own risk! I was on Actevella, HRT, for a few years only because my vanity over road my sanity! I developed breast cancer. HRT's are bad, bad ,bad! I took it even though my doctor warned me of what could happen. I poo pooed his advice and look where vanity got me! I had a double mastectomy, chose not to have reconstruction, am quite happy, and live with the hot flashes.

This story is just FULL of it. Telling women to chill & relax while men make hay at work is utter nonsense and sets us back 100's of years in progress. Men have their little "blue pill" and we have psycho-babble in articles like this & in the books they hawk. Fight for adequate & effective treatment & stop being placated by hucksters like this author. Keep in mind that HRT is NOT a panacea either. They never ever tell you that.

Medicine is run & controlled by MEN; it is not in their interests to "fix" our issues; this is not changing any time soon.

This story follows by five days the story about lies and fraud in HRT research.

When will you pharma paid doctors give up? This one is also selling a book.
