In this study participants who had high blood pressure and high cholesterol were compared on a patient centered approach to a more traditional doctor knows best. The authors speculated that the kind of patient who doesn't like being told what to do is less likely to follow doctors orders. This study was completely correlational and they are trying to draw cause and effect relationships.
