How many patients would still say good things if they knew the hospital uses women, and some men, for pelvic and rectal exam practice once the patient is under anesthesia? And you are NEVER told this takes place. But sadly it is FACT! Sometimes as many as a DOZEN students line up to abuse you. It is taking place in amost every teaching hospital in the USA. Doctors fell is their RIGHT to use you to learn on WITHOUT asking you.

10-13-2010 I too just had a most horrible experience at this hospital.. First contact in ER was rude. I walked in with my radiology report from Tower radiology ) from that day) verifying blood clots in my lungs). This is a life threatening crisis, and I did not get treated for 6.5 hours. The Er bed had no pillow. When i asked for one it never came. The Er doctor who was fresh out of school asked me twice why I thought I had blood clots after I showed him the report!!! The ER was filthy!! When they finally sent me to a room in was a semi private room with a poor old gentleman moaning and speaking incoherently. I begged for another room, which i got, next to a mentally ill lady who kept running from her bed which set off the very loud alarm. This went on all night. I got ZERO sleep. I asked the nurses to do something about it and they said no way. By 3 AM there were so many complaints the nurses tied her into a chair and sat her at the nurses station. My heart monitor leads fell off and I was getting twisted in then so I took the monitor off and no none came to ask why for 3.5 hours! I could have had a heart attack and no one would have known. My light colored socks got BLACK from the linoleum floor. My bed had to be removed and a new bed brought up because it was broken in the middle. The "new" bed was very old and noisy. My medications were wrong in the morning and they blamed me for it. I am going to file a formal report against this hospital. The treating hospital doctor told me the hospital is a haven for people with no place to go (homeless) who come in looking for a vacation from the streets. There is no pysch ward so the mentally ill are kept with the physically ill. I demanded to be discharged as i did not feel safe at this sorry excuse of a hospital DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!!!! It may cost you your life!!

Unfortunately a beloved of mine was never given the opportunity to fill out a patient survey. He was killed in a place that should have provided compassionate care, but instead was treated like an animal... and yes, killed, sufficated coming up on 6 years now. I had once worked at this hospital, and our families received care over the years at this hospital. I have no use for Blue Mountain Health Care and what once was Gnaden Huetten Hospital. Horrible and unforgivable.

I'm another of those nurses that you people "hate" so much.
F U all
Our hospital does a wonderful job when we are staffed wonderfully. That happens about once a month. If you happen to be lucky enough to be a patient during that time, you'll write wonderful letters about the wonderful "care" that you've received.
But the truth is, this applies to ALL hospitals.
Nurses are only a source of expendable labour that is added/subtracted according to the current hospital census. We are NOT "professionals" as we are not treated that way.
If you want such superb treatment of your loved onces, HIRE A PRIVATE NURSE to watch over your relative 24 hours a day while in the hospital.
Yeah. You are currently getting what everyone else gets in the hospital. Your insurance won't pay for more help. You have to pay for it.
Don't blame us. So FU. F all of you.

CARNES of IL
Christmas. Short staffing. It's a fact. And there are even less people to make phone calls to families in the middle of the night.
Hospitals (even though they make tons of money) cut their staff as the number one way of saving some dough.
Don't think your case is special.
Don't think that hospital is unique.
Don't vote for Obama.

I totally disagree with the quality of service at Vanderbilt hospital, that's based on our experience. No one takes responsibility and nothing is worked based on the patient needs, they just work based on a list of to do things even if they are not necessary. their Medical group is the worst when it comes to scheduling and answering patients concerns, They don't return your calls all day and then ask you to go to the emergency for care which is not good care( that's a place where residents and nurses and some doctors party).
The labor and delivery has the worst service and the most arrogant nurses in the country, i think they were racially driven and their response was based on the color of our skin.

Please if you value your life and your sanity never set foot in this hospital!
