America is in deperate need of affordable health care for all of it's people. The Media and the people need to hear and learn about other first world nation who have affordable-quality and at times luxureous health care for it's people, not only about inferior systems. Let's hear about the German syste-the best, Kuwait, Israel, not only Cnada, Mexico, South America....
Stop scaring and brainwashing the American people to only negatives. We are the only nation among first world nations who allow people so many eople to suffer and die needlessly and should be ashamed of ourselfes.
I applaud Pres. Obama's courrage, compassion, proposal of public option.

I did everything espected of me and more; I HAD 12 WWEKS OF THERAPY IN HOME. I ALSO ADDED A TREADMILL FOR EXTRA STRENGTH IN MY LOWER LEGS.I finally realized AFTER 8 months I was NOT improving; I made a appointment to see my surgeon AND was told I HAD A FROZEN SHOULDER AND RECOMMENDATION TO HAVE A SINPLE ANNIPULATION WOULD FREE MY SHOULDER. I accepted and the surgeon did the manipulatio slipped and frsctured My shoulder. I AM NOW BACK WEARING A SLING FOT MANY MONTHS AND SLEEpING ON MY BACK; BUT AM UP AND ACTIVE WITH CHORES AND EXERCISING SIMPLE EXERCISES. I do not hold my Surgeon RESPONSIBLE BUT DO KNOW I want to look forwward to the day I CAN DIVE My car again and not rely on my husband.I am still indisbelief but do not spend my days wondering why me?

In her "How to be a Best Patient" essay Dr. Healy strikes a resounding chord in the medical field of rehabilitation. Rehab requires the right people as therapists, but it also requires the right milieu. The environment that helps people relieve stress, feel more healthy, have motivation to work to improve, and encourage the visits and support of their friends and family is critical. Rehabilitation after a catastrophic event, whether it is an ACL tear or loss of hand function with a stroke, requires a prolonged period of concerted effort. Muscle strength and coordination cannot be recovered by swallowing a pill, but only by exercise that requires personal effort. Depression occurs twice as often in those who experience a life changing injury, and depression is definitely the enemy. There is more to treating this than just medication, it takes the right environment and support.
