hello! my prayers are with your littleone this morning. as the mom of a little one with cancer (rare) I truely appreciate your concern. It is a difficult spot to be in to make such huge decisions but i have yet to hear anything bad about st. judes. I know technology and access to the best and the brightest doctors is what we all want. Enough cannot be said for a team that works well together and is caring and compassionate. Just make sure that the doc you pick is open to suggestion and not offended if you get opinions from your place of choice...many times treatment starts before you even have time to blink. please enjoy every moment you are blessed with , with your baby and always know there are many of us going through similar situations. you are not alone...kel and baby c

I know how hard it is to watch a 3 year old go through cancer and the treatments for it - that's something I did two and a half years ago. From that, I know that Seattle Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center is AMAZING, with everything from the Ronald McDonald House, to the doctors and nurses, playrooms, even the decorations! They also have an amazing number of volunteers available to help entertain patients and/or their siblings.

You should also look into St. Jude's... they are leading in research for many childhood diseases, especially pediatric cancers.

Most of the major children's hospitals listed in the top 5 or maybe even all of them have contact info on their websites for sending info for second opinions.

The contact at CHOP for this would be Dr. Philips he is a wonderful man who has extensive knowledge of CNS cancers.

Some places will charge for second opinions, but CHOP is free as far as I know.

I hope some of this helps you, good luck to your niece!

We've been dealing with cancer for a long time... First with my mother, and then with our daughter. My recommendation is MD Anderson!!! We were dealing with a rare type of cancer, and received treatment first at Phoenix Children's Hospital. After reoccurrence, and another round of chemo, it was time to utilize our other options.

What a wonderful success story for Breanna, Children's Hospital, and Ronald MacDonald House. Children's Orthopedic Hospital in Seattle treated a 3-year-old severe burn victim 46 years ago with unbelievable results. All these years later, only a little scarring remains on one arm--of my sister. Reading about Breanna, a student we have the good fortune to have at my school, I realize the great gift we have been given: access to an amazing hospital.

It's so nice to read something positive in the news rather then all the negative stuff that seems to get all the headlines. Children's hospital in Seattle is a wonderful hospital with great staff - especially the nurses! Keep up the good work Children's staff - and the good reporting. And best of luck to you Breanna - go shake the world by the tail.
