Health Buzz: Teens Getting Drunk on Hand Sanitizer

This is absolutely ridiculous, and as a teenager these type of articles really just piss me off. This type of journalism perpetuates the stereotype that all adolescents are just out for some quick, idiotic fix of something.

Very few, and I mean maybe one or two, people that I know are stupid enough to drink hand sanitizer. Regardless of that, I'm not saying that teenagers don't drink, many do, but very few are desperate enough to do that. Also, despite the fact that drinking is illegal for teens, many are responsible when it comes to alcohol.

And as for the choking game the article states that "nearly 6% of eighth graders" have participated. You've got to be kidding me. Another 6% of eighth graders in the U.S probably live in an occult, but you don't see news articles warning parents of that. Six percent accounts for a very small number of children, and is an amount I don't consider worthy of ruffling parents feathers over.

Honestly, if your child is doing things like those listed in the article in the first place, there is no need to keep reading up on these behaviors. You've already messed up on your job as a parent.

Darwinism. Only the strong (and somewhat intelligent) shall survive.

Okayy I just have to say that parents should NOT have to put hand sanitizer out of the reach of their teenage son/daughter. Haha isn't that the point? Having sanitizer in reach? If your kid can't handle the responsibility of washing his/her own hands without getting smashed then there are definitely more underlying issues that should be addressed.

Okay, I myself am a teenager at the ripe age of 15. Sure, I am a slight bit rebellious at times and am definitely not innocent. But there is a line between being rebellious and being stupid. This has made me lose all respect for my generation. Im not sure what made them so idiotic as to think that swallowing hand sanitizer would be cool. Alcohol is alcohol, but thats just.....I have nothing to say.

I HAVE A SUGGESTION...DO AWAY WITH THE DRINKING AGE OR AT LEAST LOWER IT!!! IN MOST EUROPEAN COUNTRIES, IF YOU CAN REACH THE BAR, YOU CAN DRINK!!!

Wait till you are older to drink. It will be much safer.

If kids are stupid enough to drink alcohol from soap they deserve to end up hospitalized.

In my day we drank whiskey or whatever purchased by our older relatives and we drank it while sitting on the curb until we started vomiting on ourselves.

Good times.
