Surprisingly Unhealthy Restaurant Meals

I rarely eat at any restaurants these days, and at home a plate full of veggies with nothing more than lemon juice as a dip is a common meal--one that I quite enjoy. But I frequently ate at these restaurants for the better part of 15 years. While I tended to go for the "healthier" choices, I fear a lot of damage was already done. I was surprised by this very informative article, and it explains a lot about how my food choices in the past may have been quite misguided.

ugh...yeah these are really shameful. These places do have some healthier options though as listed on ThinDish.. Another thing to watch out for are the soups at PF Changs...want your sodium intake for the week with your appetizer soup?? It's not that bad but close.

You really need to do a better job with your research. Those are the old classic smoothies at Jamba Juice that might not be the best choices for healthy eating, but they recently rolled out some new PURE vegetable and fruit smoothies with no added sugars in the forms or sorbets, sherberts, or yogurts. I really like them and also like to drink their fresh squeezed juices. Out with the old, and in with the new. Maybe you should go try one.

You have no idea what you’re eating in restaurants. The oils they use are not like the oils at home. They are full of additives to give them a nearly indefinite shelf-life without refrigeration. Chain-restaurant food plays a big part in causing the inflammation that is behind heart disease. Don't even get me going about the sugar and huge portions!
