4 Herbal Supplements Your Doctor Hates

It's just too bad so many people have to read all these lies that give herbal supplements a bad rap. Doctors just keep people hooked on drugs that don't cure, but keep covering the symptoms. They prescribe one drug which so-called "cures" one ailment but affects something else. They then prescribe something for that and the chain reaction continues to break down the person's health.

It is laughable to read about how an herb isn't proven to cure so don't take it, yet they prescribe drugs like candy that have been proven to cause horrible side effects.

Also warning against vitamins? The average person does follow a balanced diet that would give them all the nutrients needed, and to advise them not to supplement with vitamins? That doesn't make sense.

The sad part that many need to take the drugs because they can't afford to buy the supplements since health insurance, medicaid, and medicare only cover drugs. But if you compare the price of an herbal supplement to the price you would pay without insurance for a drug, it is crazy to say that an herbal health consultant is more concerned with making money than the pharmaceuticals.

I take natural supplements, and wouldn't be without them. Alot better than the "drugs" the doctors want us to take, with all their side effects, No thank you!! Know lots of people who feel the same way, and are healhier because of them.

OMG. Here we go again. Using the same 3 "dangerous" herbs to discredit all herbs and dietary supplements. I just love the part that says - "... supplement makers are even more profit-driven than pharmaceutical companies..." Make me laugh!! Have you priced out some of these drugs lately? 10s of thousands of people die every year from pharmeceutical drugs that the FDA (run by ex-pharma executives) says are safe. There are thousands of scientific studies published every year that support the benefits of herbs and supplements. Goggle "Codex" and find out the true reason dietary supplements are geting such a bad rap.

Depression tends to run in my family, and I started showing symptoms in my early 30's. I started taking St. John's Wort. It really helped for several years. After my depression symptoms got worse, I had to see a doctor and get an anti-depressent.

But it did work for mild depression for several years.

I can only speak from my own experience, but I have seen a doctor once in the past 15 years,to have a cyst removed, and refuse prescription drugs.I do use some herbal ,mostly food-based remedies, mustard and sugar for headaches, emu oil for muscle strains, capsicum is the best I've found for allergy releif, etc. At 53,I stay in shape with 40-50 mile bike rides 4 days a week, the besy way to stave off mental decline is by making it a point to learn something new every day,and the crosswords and puzzle games I enjoy. In short,I believe that most people, with a litte work, can stay in good health without doctors or prescriptions.

"ginkgo is probably safe—as long as it's not consumed in seed form, which has been linked to seizures & even deaths."

If Ginko Seeds are toxic, why can I buy them at my Local H-Mart (Korean Food Mega Store) & why do I see Asians by the dozen picking them off the ground in Autumn? I'm not being a smart*ss or sarcastic. I REALLY want to know if they are safe to consume or not because I was going to buy some to use in a Soup Recipe on the back of the packet & if they are not really "Safe", I'd rather not take the chance, even if they make a delicious soup! LOL!

There's no conclusive evidence because research is lacking. This is no funding or inspiration for this kind of research, therefore there isn't any. Moderation in all things is the key.

Well, of course Doctors don't want you to use NATURAL products, because then they won't get a cut from that Prescription they want to make you take......you know that one with all the horrible side effects making it worse to take than the actual disease you have? I would much rather try NATURAL first than going through a medical PROFESSIONAL who is only there to make money off of you anyways. I don't really care if I die, I just want to die peacefully. After all, we aren't getting out of this life alive anyways. I've been taking suppliments and vitamins for YEARS, and I haven't had the flu (I refuse flu shots!) or a really bad cold for YEARS. I'm not a big jerk about germs, because if you eliminate germs or are a germ-a-phobe, you will not build up a resistance or tolerance to germs. Just be safe and well informed and make the decisions best for YOU, and don't go by what the 'experts' say. My Grandpa was the same way, was told he had Cancer of the liver at 71, and told the Dr. he'd take care of it himself. He took vitamins and suppliments and lived to be 98 WITHOUT Dr. recommended treatment. Yup, natural herbs and suppliments have been around since the earth began. Modern medicine has been around only a few hundred years. I'll take the natural road, thank you!
