I think all of this is hogwash. Doctors trained in allopathic western health care system are pushing far more toxic pharmaceutical drugs to patients creating a sick care syndrome of which patients would need to require to stay on drugs for life to manage illnesses. These drugs kill many people each year whereas suppllements do not. This is a very costly system being used today from pharmaceutical companies pushing their newest and better drugs to very bad cost of deaths and many other adverse health effects. A drug is prescribed for one condition thus creating other other adverse conditions creating a snowball effect of having to be on many more toxic drugs with no real imrpovements to ones health. I know what I am talking about as I had been there taking 12-18 drugs a day prior to end of 2010 and slowly weaned myself off all with better health. I would far prefer to use supplements than those toxic drugs. Doctors and hospitals are in bed with pharm companies getting kicbacks from them. This drive up our health care costs to Medicare and other health insurance industrities. Anceint ways of healing is more practical and healing to whatever is ailing a person. I have trust in altermnative therapies. Hippocrates oath states, "Let food be your medicine, Let medicine be your foods. We have drastically destroyed the agriculture ecosystem creating definciencies in ones diet thus creating bad health. We are having serious nutritional situations with advent of unnatural growing foods re livestocks and many other greens and items. Its a no wonder we are in a downward spiral to bad health amongst many in communities. I am on a crusade to change the medical care system. I speak out and take actions to our governements. Think about all the choices in front of you and do something about it. I know I did and am very glad to do it. I fear for future generations to really have to suffer badly. We can do better with our health care systems.

This is laugh. Herbs have been used for thousands of years with no serious health effects. Even Europe uses St. John's Wort effetively for depressive symptoms and Black Cohosh for meopausal symptoms. Gingko has been used effetively in India where it originates. I would far prefer to use herbals than very harmful pharmaceutical drugs. The western medical care system sucks in that doctors are trained in use of all these harmful pharmaceutical drugs in order to protect the profits of greedy and reckless pushing of their drugs. FDA is in bed with them all. Guess what? Pharmaceutical drugs kill people. I know cause I have almost died from several prescribed drugs and was made sicker on them with no real improvements in health but worse conditions. One takes a drug, get a disconcerting side effect, so guess what the doc does, prescribes more harmful drugs to counteract that effect. It just snowballs here on out and at what costs is it to our medical care systems with insurances and mainly Medicare and health care insruance systems. herbs have been used for dozens of centuries. I appreciate the wisdom of ancient ways of healing practices. Hippocrates has an oath in that, "Let food be your medicine, Medicine be your food." Also, "Do no harm." This really peeves me greatly what is happening today as I see it happening to me and many others. I was on in excess of 12-15 drugs a day being sick, I quit all of them in one years time and my health improved greatly untill I got a shot of toxic antibiotics for strep thus leading me to having seizures and pancreatitis. I have no faith in allopathic health care systme at all anymore. I will turn to alternative therapies first for better health. Think about this. I am writing to governement and being an advocate with my wisdoms. I am going back to school in order to help people with these issues. We got much changes ahead of us for better health for all.

Most studies are paid for by large pharmaceuticalsthat look for useful results. The image is a university or laboratory is spending their valuable resources to assist the rest of us.

When artificial pain relievers were developed, aspirin became an unregulated threat to humanity. The pharms would like aspirin be by prescription.

As a cancer survivor, given less than a month after six rounds of chemo and extensive surgery in 2005, I am told I look better continually. I was damaged more by the chemicals than any supplements. Take your vitamins like your mama told you. Bathe your body in nutrition. You deserve an optimal health, not the minimal health the phams and the FDA reccomend. God bless us all.

Been though them all and was very disappointed. Saw Palmetto did not work either. If you have bad flashes you need to get bioidentical hormones, estrogen patches, and progesterone. You don't really need the testerone unless you want to take it. The estrogen patches can be gottren at the regular pharmacy, but the progesterone has to be made up by a compounding pharmacy and costs a litle less than $1.00 a pill. Estrogen is usually covered by insurance, the bioidentical progesterone is not.

I used to be with you guys about this stuff. But I am glad that skepticism has got me off of vitamins and most herbs. I still like to make tea with some of them and I can see how Ginkgo wakes you up to work on school work all night but just think about the quality of product your using, the dosage and the interaction with other drugs and herbs (which are drugs) Also natural isn't good either, arsenic is natural. Peach pits are natural and surrounded by an edible fruit. Yohimbe is an inhibitor (MAIO or something) and will take down some of brains protection. Just be careful out there people.

I don't care for yohimbe but the other supplements mentioned here have more science behind them than most drugs. What people, and even doctors, do not know is that drugs hit the market based on premature conclusions from flawed tests done by the manufacturer of the drug. Once they get into the supply side of drug sales they are never removed unless an inordinate amount of deaths occur. Medicine is not science; it is an evidence-based practice where drugs are used experimentally by doctors for conditions they were never scientifically tested for. This is the same scenario as for herbs except that herbs have been used for hundreds of years before synthetic drugs came onto the market in the early 1900s
