I am proud of this young woman. People need to see the real face, the normal and sometimes beautiful face of this disease. The disease will continue to hurt people, if people are only made to believe that it is a disease of one particular group of people. If people can have a full education about this disease, and challenge themselves to see that you really can't identify who may have it, then it will continue to spread.
People think that the diseases leaves taletell marks on a person, it doesn't. People still think that only drug addicts or a certain group of people have to worry about the disease, and that if they are participating in a "safe group" they don't have to worry...well we know that is a lie.
To the people saying that she will only cause more people to participate in unsafe behavior, I challenge you to think of all the people that she will save. There are a lot of misinformed people out there. People are having sex, and if we don't give them the information, or answer their questions, this disease will continue to spread.
I had a professor that always said, "The dumbest question is the one never asked!" This is the same with this disease. If you don't know all the information, or if you have questions, though they may seem dumb, ask them...That question may save your life.
As for her dating, there are lots of men who would jump at the chance to date this beautiful woman. There is enough information out there for a man to know how to protect himself, and it seems like she would be a partner in protecting him. A relationship is never just about the sex, it is about the intimacy and the connection. Sex is important, but it isn't all consuming, or should it be the sole focus of having a relationship.
Good luck with your life beautiful, may you thrive and live life to the fullest! Thanks for putting another tool out there to help educate the masses...We do need to hear our stories, particularly in the black community. I am so tired of that elephant sitting in the middle of the room, and everyone is walking around acting like it isn't there!

I work in a hostpital and I will tell you that looking at you the person and how well you look compared to others who have the virus looking for sympathy instead of looking for a source of educating themselves to getting help. You must also, be aware of how many persons have this disease and are still having sex with persons without telling them. Murder, is what you should call it, your life will start to shut itself down because you are too tired, sores will start forming, you will watch your body deteriorate itself and I only hope that before the ten year period comes, a cure will happen for those who have been diagnosed whom have atleast gotten help. I think that you are brave enough to talk about HIV/AIDS while like I said others still are lying and we can look in and see that they have the virus. Much love and keep your head up and look as good as you want too!

Let me just say that I first heard about your book on The Russ Parr Morning Show and My heart went out to you then and it goes out to you now, But on the good side of this all.... I am so very very proud of you for being a very strong and yet determined young lady who wants to spread as much knowledge as possible about HIV to as many young people as you can. There are so many young people in this day and age that think sex is a game, But you really need know exactly who you are dealing with and that you should always think highly of yourself first. This book though I have not gotten a chance to read yet because everytime I go to the book store it sold out, should be read by not just the young but also the adult. I am a true supporter in your future endeavors. My you stay safe and blessed.... (Remember that this was only a Trial and Tribulation and that you my dear have past the test and hardship and have now moved on to greater heights in giving the food of KNOWLEDGE and Education)to so many people...Continue to make them full....

all people living with HIV AND AIDS should not be discourage,forget about the past understand the present and move towards the future,belive that life is all about ups because i have known no downs,lts help our selves by playing safe that will at least reduce the spread,also prayers can stop this deadly spread.christianity knows that Jesus christ gave us victory on the cross of calvary where he said it is finish all sickness is finish.that is throug Jesus our lord.

As I read this is information it is unflavable that Ms.Brown contacted this disease, but the truth stand that this disease is curabe,but the power to be "FDA" has keep this information suppressed all in the name of the "$" this is the saddest. The FDA would rather kill thousand of people to make trillion on dollars. The Fact is this is the truth no matter how you look at it in any direction, and from any stand point.
