I have been taking simvistatin for five years. Two months ago i found it hard to walk and kept pulling muscles when i worked.felt like i was getting weak. Also i started to have a strong odor from urine.Informed Doc, I stopped taking the statin and in four days noticed large improvement as well as urine returned to normal. it has been two months and i feel great. But, blood test showed soaring ldl 180. Doc wants to see me right away.Had heart surgery 2006.Don`t mind taking the pill just don`t want to feel bad doing it.Don`t want to have heart surgery again either!!

What if your HDL is great (mine is 79) and your trigylcerides are fine (mine is 122), but yur LDL is above the very high stage (mine is 192)? Is there anything you can do/take that will just lower our LDL's short of taking statins? Is there any danger in having your HDL's go even higher? I know high is good, but is there a limit on what range they should be in?
