I've been doing a saline nose rinse that also has colloidal silver in it for 2 days now. After reading this article I think the silver may be irrelevant, but regardless -- all I know is that for the last 25 years I have not been able to breathe without that liquid draino type nose spray you buy at the drug store and now after just two days of squirting saline solution up my nose in the morning and night I can breath again.
The Dr. prescribed nasal spray didn't seem to help at all.
I find the rinsing unpleasant but it is SO GLORIOUS to be able to JUST BREATH that I'll gladly do it as often as necessary.

I used to use Nasaline but I was getting water into my ear canal. Now I use the Neti Pot. There is no pressure so it flows gently.

The Nasaline Nasal Rinsing System I was able to find on Amazon.com.
The product is quality made and unlike the Neti Pot it works-saline transfers easily from one nostril to the other. Nasal rinsing products were not to be found conveniently in my area. Threw out the Neti Pot. Finally a nasal rinsing system that really works and only cost a little over $10.00.

I'll try that. I also know that a humidifier in the bedroom will help because the baseboard heat dries it out and clogs it up. I'm also using grapefruit seed extract (get it at vitamin stores in the section that has immune enhancement) which clears out excess mucus anywhere in the body. Dairy, wheat, yeast products (pasta is a killer) cause excess mucus in the body and so does cheese. We wash everything else, but our poor little nose has to endure all kinds of insults from people smoking outside your office building, air pollution from cars, dirty heat and air conditioning vents at home and work. Also if you get sterile water (from pharmacy) you can dilute regular nose spray (which is 2%) to 1% and that will work also to help.

I use a SinuPulse a high tech nasal irirgator I saw featured on Good Morning America. I threw my 12th century neti pot out the window and entered teh 21St century. The SinuPulse cleanses far more effectively with less time, mess, and inconvenience. I love it.

The recipe ends up giving you 8oz of magic nose solution. I used hardly any of it. I tilted my head back and let a little bit run down my nose into my throat. The disgusting part of it is that you can feel it filling up in your throat and i ended up spitting it out in the sink. I had to blow my nose after treating both nostrils, but i could breathe much better afterward.
It is a temporary fix, but as long as you are okay with dealing with the nastiness of it once in a while you should feel a lot better. I can't breath 100% because of it, but it is way better than not breathing at all.
All in all, this is a pretty good home remedy and I wish I had found this sooner because i have been dealing with my nose issues for a few days. I hate colds!
