No one knows precisely what causes brain tumors, though scientists have identified a number of risk factors associated with the development of a primary brain tumor. It may be protective to limit your exposure to radiation, for example, and to certain chemicals such as formaldehyde. So far, studies have not found an increased risk of brain tumors among cellphone users or among people who have had head injuries.
