Ok .. so
So I agree that douching can be bad but some NEEEED it once and a while. There are so many foul smelling women, even after bathing, who need it and wont becasue its not recommended.. sounds like a load to me..To each her own but I have been douching once a month (or two months) for years and nothings happened to me. Yes I know everyone is different. So before you discard it completely maybe you should experiment.
sexul healing
to me sex is like a meal. i want it because i crave for it and it feels good. women who have sex just to be loved is so boring and out of the question for me. my partner and i goes for days on end without sex due to our job schedules, and when we do get together its like a sugar high for the both of us.

dryness and painful foreplay
I'm a 63 year old woman, and I WAS MARRIED TO A WONDERFUL MAN, WHICH SPOILED ME. I REGRET WE NEVER HAD SEX. I FEEL THAT I WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR HIM. WE DIN'T GET MARRIED FOR SEX. I'M A PERSON WHO NEEDS TO FEEL NEEDED, HE HAD JUST LOST HIS MOTHER, AND I HAD JUST LOST MY MOTHER. E WAS AN ONLY CHILD, I'M FROM A FAMILY OF SIX SIBLINGS. THE YOUNGEST OF THE FAMILY. I TOOK CARE OF MY MOTHER TILL SHE PASSED AWAY. I NEEDED TO FEEL NEEDED AGAIN. WHEN TIME PASSED AND AND LIFE WAS EASIER FOR HIM, I ACTUALLY TRIED TO RUN HIM. BUT BY THIS TIME, HE WASN'T WANTING TO LEAVE, HE HAD FALLEN IN LOVE WITH ME. THE ONE TIME WE TRED TO, IT WAS LIKE WE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, OR HOW TOGET ANYTHING STARTED. I REALIZED, I HURT AND I WAS VERY DRY,AND IT WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE FOR ME, SO WE NEVER TRIEDIT AGAIN. I FEEL SO GUILTY ABOUT IT. THANK YOU.

I see a couple of mistakes with your comments: 1) It's perfectly fine for post partum and/or nursing mothers to use a little bit of topical vaginal estrogen cream for atrophy associated with decreased estrogen levels. 2) Estrogen vaginal cream is safe for use in almost all women, even women with a history of early stage endometrial (uterine) cancer, or women who are at least 5 years out from a diagnosis of breast cancer (even hormone sensitive breast cancer.)
3) Women using topical vaginal estrogen cream who have an intact uterus do not have to use progesterone to oppose the effects of the estrogen on the uterus. This is not the standard of care. Only women using systemic hormone therapy with an intact uterus need combination therapy. (4) Douching is almost never recommended. Besides the reasons you stated, it increases the risk of bacterial vaginosis. This infection is more common in women who douche, even if infrequently. As an aside, African American women are much more likely to have bacterial vaginosis, and guess what-a large proportion of them douche. It's handed down as the 'thing to do' be women in their families. Most gynecologists know this but won't tell them for fear of being viewed as racially biased.
vaginal dryness
I'm 76 and haven't been able to have intercourse with my husband for over a year because 1) it hurts; 2) vaginal dryness all the time 3) even though I'm on the "patch". It's like riding a bike, if you don't do it, it's not fun anymore and the gels don't help. Period.
