Thanks to Caitlin about friends' high school experiences

Laws send students to school, so schools must do their part, with parents, to explain how sexual arousal works. Years ago, helpful videos were made by sex researchers, but they were condemned by some "offended" church leaders. Many teen pregnancies involve alcohol. It's used for the express purpose of IMPAIRING JUDGMENT. Girls who are kept in ignorance suffer as victims of that ignorance. TV soap operas fool students into believing there's a happy ending to unintended conception-- via adoption. Bush had to pay off lots of Ban-Abortion people who funded his campaigns. He stole taxes to pay them to run the "Abstinence Only" scam. He was endorsing the very old Catholic concept of celibacy for nuns and priests. As something very precious, and hard to give up, they swore not to have intercourse with the opposite gender. They were expected to "burn with pain from the fire of unfulfilled sexual desire." Some of them seem to have turned to molesting children because they're not adult females. Bush pleased his Catholic brother Jeb Bush. As Florida's governor, he was able to see that chads from many elections piled up in some precinct machines and canceled Kerry votes.

Not true

From my experience, telling a kid that something is "wrong" to do, is not a way to deter them from trying it. In fact, sometimes it can make them want to do it even more. If you read Abstinence Only vs. Comprehensive Sex Education by Chris Collins you can find many statistics that prove your statement to be false. One study done that compared the teen pregnancy and STD rates after a comprehensive sex education program called "Reducing the Risk" was implemented instead of their normal abstinence only classes. The results showed that not only did teen pregnancy and STD rates go down, but the average age that the kids started to have sex was raised. Therefore, telling kids the risks associate with having sex and ways to avoid these risks does not make them want to start having sex, in fact the opposite has been shown to occur.

NO

I think that teaching safe sex will give children the idea to have sex. They should stick with abstinence. If children think that having sex is "wrong" they won't do it.

GOOD PLAN

Kids that want to have sex are going to have sex. If schools only teach abstinence, that leaves these kids at risk for the dangers that come along with sex. By giving kids information on what the risks of sex are and how you can avoid them, there will be less teen pregnancies and less STD spreading. Research has shown that in most areas, comprehensive sex education has not only lowered the teen pregnancy rates and STD infection rates, but also raised the mean age that kids began having sex. (Abstinence only vs. Comprehensive Sex Education Chris Collins 2002).
