Heart Attack, Gall Bladder, or Hernia

I will soon be 59. About 5 years agoI had a colonoscopy that showed a couple polyps and a hiatal hernia. I figured I couldlive with that. I amoverweit by about 50 pounds, but I am a vegetarian.

About 2 years ago I had stomach pain and the doctor ordered an MRI; that was $1700, and my deductable was $2000. It revealed nothing, and I got over whatever it was I had.At present I am only working part time and do not have health insurance or a very large income.

I have had upper GI symptoms, however, as I stillhave the hernia, and I have had a pressing down on the top of my stomach when I lie down. Sometimes it is hard to swallow, and I have to pound myself on the chest to make food go down. I have awakened the past few nights with nausea and pain in the upper part of my stomach and my left breast. I thought maybe I had gall blasser mixed in withthe hernia thing.

At any rate I cannot afford the ER or the doctor, as I have neither the money nor any health insurance. I live alone, although my daughter lives in the same city with her husband, I do not want to scare them, but I am at a loss as to what to do.

Any suggestions for how I can get seen by a doctor? I have to admit, I am a little scared.

Thank yoiu,

Jeanne

symptons

i am 52 have had chest pains for over 3weeks and s.o.b had a stress test and wore a halter monitor both came back ok symptons still here but getting worse

I don't know if I have heart issues.

I was playing with my children. Holding them while I was jumping, when I felt a pain in my chest. It was quick and I felt like my heart skipped a beat. I have felt this like a couple of times. I was diagnosed with panic attacks, but I went to counseling, took medication and I still feel the same simptoms. pain in my left arm, my heart skips a couple of beats, shortness of breath, pain in the left side of my jaw. I hope I don't have a heart desease. They did the stress test and everything came out fine, but my daughter's genetic doctor suggested I get a MAR of the heart, to make sure, because my daughter was born with a heart deffect.

Heart Attack

Debbie,

I just arrived home from the hospital yesterday from having a heart attack 2 days ago.

I always knew that women symptons are different than men, but some women could have the same symptons as men. I always thought it would be chest pain, maybe some arm pain and never the way it came on for me. It started in my jaw and would wake me up at night.I would get up and that something to releive the pain and contioun on with my day as this went on for just over a week. Then one night as I laied down to watch TV before going to sleep the jaw pain started again. I got up and took an advil and soon the pain incresed. I went down stairs to talk to my husband and soon it felt like someone had there hands around my neck squizzing off the blood flow. I told me he would take me to the hospital and before we left the house I could fill the tight squizzing pressure in my chest. So I had all three of these symptons all going on at the same time. So after leaving the house I oould no longer mustard up the energy to talk or move you arms and legs. I knew I was in big trouble when I broke out in a sweat and I became nausea. I could hear everything that was being said all around me. I could hear my husband talking to me. I could hear the ER doctor say "Yes, she's having a heart attack." But no one could hear me in my mind say " NO! I'm to young."

As soon as they placed the stents in I was my old self, ready to go home and pick up where I left off.

I feel like I was one of the lucky women that did get to come home.

Now thing have changed. I have to watch what I eat, I need to exercise, but most importanly I had to do the one thing that I struggled with for years, I had to stop smoking.

Thank you for letting me share.
