God Bless The Travolta Family
I am so sorrry for your loss Travolta family. May God and his angels comfort you in this time of loss. I lost my father at the age of 16 and I can feel your grief, at age 38 now I still miss my dad. Jett will live on in your heart and memories forever.
Jeff Travolta's seizures
My heart goes out to this wonderful & loving family as they try to process this tragic loss and the unsurmountable grief of losing a child. I would never judge this family. They were fantastic parents in every way. I have seen autism and it is not the only reason for seizures.Children exposed to chemicals, carpet cleaner and other toxins can indeed become ill. Depending on the exposure and genetics and state of the immune system, anyone can become sick with an overwhelmed detoxification system and become neurologically injured/damaged from toxins. I know because I and many friends I've met thru my Environmental Dr's have similiarly become ill due to various toxin exposures;(Mold, formaldehyde, paint fumes, sealants, natural gas, pesticides, petrochemicals, cleaning chemicals). Autism is not always the problem in a child w seizures.Kelley spoke out & is very knowledgeable about these things. Chemical exposures create sensitivities to foods, chemicals/perfumes, seizures, brain dysfunction/memory issues. It can bedefined as a brain injury, in many instances. Detox is a crucial part of the recovery, as they did for Jett, along with avoidance and a special diet.Kawasaki could have various causes including chemicals or microbes. The body becomes hypersensitive to many things. Sadly, Environmental Physicians have the most knowledge and success with such illness, but are rarely referred by other MD's. I send my deepest sympathy to a remarkable family who deserved so much more time with such a remarkable son. They did the best they could do. God bless all of the Travolta family at this time of unspeakable loss & grief.
Response to Julie of NJ and Sherry of TX
I think you guys are wrong for even making those comments you don't know they're situation you don't know the conversations they had with doctors the only think you have is speculation from whatever articles you read. If I were them I would be outraged that my sons death was being exploited in the manner that it is. No one has any right to judge them and I have a hard time believing that would rather spend money on lavish things than on they're own son, obbviously you have no clue what kind of person john and his wife are, why don't you do your research.
Religon and Medicine
I can't stand the media sometimes seriously, this family is grieving and they are going to put something like this sentence, I don't want to rehash the arguments over whether Travolta and his wife's belief in Scientology influenced the family's healthcare decisions, in the beginning of the article. I think it's disrespectful. I don't think religon had anything to do with it. People get so caught up in useless asumptions. If they were the normal Christian or Catholic that statement would not be in this article and that never would have been brought to the table in the first place. Some people like a more natural way of dealing with illness and some people preffer regular medicine in any case I don't think for second that if they're son was having seizures and what not that they wouldn't give him the best care possible. To the author of this article I think your way of writing is distastful and I think you need to examine the wording a little better, shame on you!
accident
Accidents happen, and are unexpected. Their child was in a toxic condition from Depakote. Perhaps they wanted to give his liver a little time to recover before trying another drug. I have a child who was made very ill from drugs for a health condition. The drug side effects were almost worse than the condition. These decisions can be wrenching. I am so very sorry that this happened to such a caring, well meaning family.
I had Kawasaki
When I was five. I remember the rash, and I am 26 now. Every now and then I get freaked that this will happen to me, but I did a research project on this in college and while it can cause sudden death later in life, it is in the teenage years that people are at risk.
Kawasaki is a weird disease and I hope doctors are not more hesitant to diagnose it now that everyone is going to be worried
TO TWO PARENTS AND TWO GREAT PEOPLE I HAVE EVER WITNESSED ON TV.
FROM(AUSTIN, TEXAS) MY FAMILY TO YOURS, I AM SO SORRY FOR THAT HAPPEN TO YOUR SON. WE ALL KNOW - JETT IS A BETTER PLACE. AS A MOTHER OF AUTISTIC SON, NO SEIZURE, BUT AOT OF DEVELOPMENTAL DALAYS. GOD IS IN CONTROL, AND HE WILL ALWAYS REMAIN IN CONTROL FOR EVER. PEACE OF THE HOLY FATHER TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. LOVE YOU ALL
Travolta tragedy
It doesn't matter what they did or didn;t do to help this child. I am not fully knowledgable abot Scientology but I do know they do not seem to ecognize Autism. If they do, they do not give the child meds for the condition.
I am truly sad this unfortunate tragedy happend to this wonderful family.
Jett Travolta and Kawasaki Syndrome
I agree with the doctor from MA! Even the official cause of death for Jett Travolta was listed as a "Seizure Disorder," not Kawasaki syndrome. Seizure disorders are a different class than the Kawasaki disease. So please get a grip parents, and stop being sooo scared if your children have Kawasaki Syndrome! My heartfelt condolences go out to the Travolta Family at this very sorrowful time... may they find comfort in the love of their family and friends.
A longtime fan of John's.
