Not a problem for me

I live in Wisconsin and I started drinking alcohol in the 9th grade. I started smoking marijuana in tenth grade. I graduated from high school with honors and now I attend a UW school and I'm currently studying Pre-Pharmacy. I would have to say I'm not doing too bad considering my substance use. There is a smart way to do these things and a dumb way to do these things. Way too many non-violent marijuana users go to jail everyday, and for what? Having a plant on them or smoking that plant. Big deal, who are they really hurting?

A CRYING MOTHER

I HAVE BEEN SICK AND STILL AM AND TRY MY HARDEST TO LET MY CHILD THAT IS 15 BE HAPPY. HIS BOOZING HAS GOT TO STOP AND STAYING OUT LATE ON WEEKENDS. I CRY AND CRY, NO FATHER TO HELP BECAUSE HE WAS AN ALCOHOLIC HIMSELF. HE LIVES 5 MINUTES FROM HIS SON NOT A HELLO OR NOTHING. THE CHILDSUPPORT IS GETTTING FARTHER BEHIND AND I AM NOT WORRIED ABOUT THAT JUST MY CHILD. I STILL MAKE IT FINE. I CRY SO HARD BUT THAT IS NOT GOING TO HELP IF I DON'T DO SOMETHING AND STOP THINKING IT IS GOING TO QUIT, SOMETHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN... THIS IS WHERE THE TOUGH LOVE IS GOING TO START. FIRST I AM MANDATORY GETTING HIM DRUGGED TESTED IN THE MORNING AT SCHOOL AND GOING FROM THERE. HIS GRADES ARE FAILURE EXCEPT FOR TWO CLASSES A FIRST GRADER COULD TAKE AND PASS. I HAVE GOT TO PUT MY FOOT DOWN BECAUSE GOD GAVE ME A WARNING A WEEK AGO WHEN A 21 YEAR OLD WAS DRIVING A CAR MY SON WAS IN AND MISSED A TRY BY TWO FOOT WITNESSED BY THE POLICE. GOD DOES GIVE WARNINGS AND WE NEED TO BELIEVE IN HIM AND THANK HIM FOR THE SECOND CHANCE.

Alcohal???

Alcohol you may think is the BOMB, you may think is fun, you may think is cool... Just because they do it your friends dosen't mean you should do it that goes for DRUGS to... your friends do it dosen't mean you have to do it... advice live above DRUGS, the influence, and the trouble if you want to succeed. Wait until your (21) to have alcohol NOT DRUGS ALCOHOL +)... =)

Early Alcohol use Causes Big Problems, Even for "Good Kids"

I have been trying to teach my teenage son and his friends that drinking at a young age is bad for the developing body. Which I believe to be true. If it is scientifically proven, then the message needs to get out there. Into the schools. Onto the television. Out to the kids - in any way possible. While we are "online," most people are not. And even if they are online, how many parents are going to "google" for this info? I just had a discussion with another "educated" parent about alcohol being bad for the developing body. Now I have to collect supporting information to prove I am right. This needs to become common knowledge. Parents should not have to struggle to find the truth. Push this info out! Just like they push other info about how bad tv/computer use is for kids. We ALL know that message now. Alcohol use is worse for you.
