Fasting tests
My 2 year old recently underwent this test and my wife was not told to have her fast. No wonder her levels came back high, but PLEASE. Is it my job to train my child's health care providers?

Choelsterol is neccessary for brain development. What about the Eskimo children that eat BONE MARROW!!!!
I have a 2 year old that is 50th percentile in weight. She actually looks skinny. Her doctor, unfortunately, is going by the book (drug lobyists?) rather a case by case basis (isn't that what a doctor is for? Take each person case by case?) and said to put our child on 2% milk and decrease egg intake to a few time a week.
WTF? I would understand if she was 95th percentile in weight, which I have seen (parents feed him soda and McDonalds). But enough is enough!
children and statins
It seems to me that the pharmaceutical companies have thought of yet another way to make money. Feed your kids properly and
they'll be okay. They've only proved statins have lowered cholesterol, not prevented heart attacks. Enough already!
Maybe instead of more tests, we should find a way to manage weight in children through good old DIET AND EXERCISE! Instead of them playing video games, they should be out running around. Instead of candy, they should be eating fruits and vegetables. Why modify the diet and exercise reactively when it should be done proactively?
