obesity in children

Obesity in children is such a touchy subject--say the wrong thing, and your kids can be permanently scarred, don't sqy anything and let it be? Well, maybe it will take its course, work itself out, but maybe not.

What I recommend to my younger clients is making healthy eating and exercise a lifestyle and to make it fun. Running around a track or on a treadmill probably won't appeal to a 10-yr-old, but an hour session of freeze-tag at the park will.

Now, the best medicine? PREVENTION. For the most part, parents can prevent their children from becoming obese by not bringing junk into the house and leading by example by eating healthy and exercising in moderation without over-emphasizing body image.
