Autism and Schizophrenia!
Hello! My name is MacKenzie, I'm a boy, and I have Aspergers very severelly. I also might have severe Schizophrenia. I have an extremlly hard time learning because of my Autism disorder. But my Schizophrenia makes me have main problems on just 2 things, which are: flat emotion, and parinioa. Both Autism and Schiozophrenia are very disabling and hard to treat for certain ages. It's harder to diagnose Autism when your an adult, but with sckizophrenia it's harder to diagnose Schizophrenia when your a child. That's why I'm about 13 years old and I'm not diagnosed with Schizophrenia but I might be and I'm only diagnosed with Autism when I turned 3 years old. My mother has OCD, Biplar Disorder, and Border line personality disorder. I actaully have all my mental disorders very severe. I also got diagnosed with wicked wicked bad OCD. But my Tourettes I don't have severe. I have only little tics. thanks for reading this comment and Bye! Please wish me and your little lovely faces a good life even with or without mental disorders. Bye!
Gluten intolerance link cont.
I am frantically trying to find an inpatient facility that specializes in orthomolecular psychiatry, that can help wean my son off of antipsychotic meds. Preferably in the san diego area and accepts medical/medicare, however I will relocate and sell everything I own to help my son.
Two months ago I had no idea there was a link between autism and schizophrenia, or any information on gluten intolerance. That mental illness can be cured with gluten free diet, and megadoses of vitamins. I am living proof. I too have been labled with major depressive disorder, then bi-polar after a highly stressful event resulting in a psychotic break. I too have been hospitalized several times. I do not know if I had autism symptoms as a child. I was extremely shy, sensitive, and emotional. December I was hospitalized for unrelenting suicidal thoughts. I was put on lithium, zoloft, and anti-anxiety drugs. My
psychiatrist told me he thought my problems were the result of my "screwed up family". That comment was enough to never go back. I continued my meds that resulted in what I now call my emotional coma. I was still severely depressed. Suicidal thoughts continued. I could not kill myself, I could not do that to my family. (my brother commited suicide). I prayed a lot and decided if I was going to die it was God's choice.
New Years made me decide to get out of bed and try to live. My resolution was to loose weight (I gained 40 lbs on lithium in 1 year). I researched diets and found a clinic that put me on a diet, low fat, low carb,no sugar,no processed foods, high protein from lean meats and certain fish. Very low dairy (1oz of string cheese) and very low breads (limit 2 crackers). Lots of fresh greens and purified water.
The diet was also supplemented with megadoses of vitamins B6/B12 and others, given by injection. I had to force myself to eat every 3 hours to eat all the requirements. I lost 20 lbs in four weeks without exercise. Thats not the good news......
MY MENTAL ILLNESS SYMPTOMS ARE GONE!!!!!!
NO DEPRESSION, NO ANXIETY, NO RACING THOUGHTS, NO INSOMNIA
CLEAR THINKING, INCREASED energy. Also, no more GERD symptoms and normal bowel movements.
By researching B vitamins (known as the vitamins for stress) I came across info on gluten intolerance and its connection to autism, bi-polar, and schizophrenia. Gluten free diets and orthomolecular psychiatry. The autism /schizophrenia connection and the importance of identifying food intolerances and proper diet.
Not only is gluten in wheat, barley, rye and some oats..it's also in almost if not in all processed foods under the names MSG and others! I also read that vaccines have a gelatin substance that contains a for of gluten!!!
DO YOUR RESEARCH. I WISH I HAD THIS INFORMATION TO HELP MY SON WHEN HE HAD AUTISM SYMPTOMS. I AM MAD THAT NO MD EVER TOLD ME THIS. I GUESS THE FOOD INDUSTRY AND DRUG COMPANIES CONTROL MENTAL ILLNESS.

Both schizophrenia and autism has been linked to gluten intolerance.
Do autistic children grow up to develope severe mental illness such as schizophrenia, bi-polar, schizo-affective disorder? I believe this has been the case with my son and I. My son is 23 years old and autism or mental illness at such an early age was non-existant as far as I knew. As an infant he was very collicky, hardly slept, cried all the time, had projectile vomiting. and was severely constipated. The doctor said he was lactose intolerant and put him on soy bean formula. This helped somewhat with the bowel movements, but that's about it. Then as a toddler he developed autism symptoms. I just thought he was extremely shy, very picky, very sensitive and emotional with temper tantrums. One thing that comes to mind was his fixation with how his shoe laces were laced. He would throw heartbreaking tantrums when his shoes were not laced to his specifications, something I could't figure out. Thank God they came out with velcro. Any change in routine would just set him off.
He did extremely well in school, excelling in math and music. The perfect student, organized to extremes, took his studies very seriously and I never had to tell him to do his homework. He also kept his room as neat as a pin.
His world came crashing down in his senior year. He seemed to be under a lot of stress. He was in a car accident. He let a friend drive and he totalled the car. Shortly after, symptoms of bi-polar/schizophrenia appeared. Meds, meds and more meds. Hosptalizations and time in jail. He barely made it through graduation. He could no longer go to school and had to finish through independant study. He had a hard time comprehending what he read. Symptoms of illness or meds?
Hospitalizations for suicide attempts (while on meds), and for non-compliance to meds resulting in mania and delusions. Too many hospitalizations to count. New meds, different hospitals and doctors. It got so bad that I had to tell the hospital that he was homeless and cannot come home. This advice was given to me by NAMI, and was the only way I could get him the longterm treatment and conservatorship he needed. MEDS ARE POISONING HIM! DO NOT LET THE DRUG COMPANIES KILL YOUR CHILD!
I'm currently seeking orthmolecular psychiatric help for my son. Mental illness is mental illness, reguardless of what symptom label you are assigned (i.e. Bipolar,Schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, ocd, ADD,autism ect.) MEDS will kill you if suicide doesn't get you first. Meds only calm the symptoms while numbing your emotions, and poisoning your brain, The horrible side effects cause physical illness that can kill. Orthomolecular medicine identifies food intolerances, and treats with megadoses of vitamins, minerals, treats heavy metal intoxities (mercury?), and CURES mental illness. to be continued...
Autism/Skitzophrenia
I have been diagnosed with Autism at the age of 4, and hvae managed to developed to a close to normal person these days. People who are experienced with people with skitzophrenia or my disorder can still detect some trace abnormalties in my behaviour. I had some guy ask wether I ahd Skitzophrenia.
It is interesting to see that there are genetic links bteween the two disorders, and similarities of brain size development, because I have remembered experiencing hallucinations at a number of times from age 5 to around 7 maybe 8-years-old. I still occasionaly hear things but they are rare, althuogh consider that I also have extended high frequency hearing somewhere above 20Khz so can hear canine control devices and CRT television, thank heavens LCD televisions are taking ovre, they look better and take up less room anyway.
Back to the subject, this is very interesting information, keep up with the research, we need to diagnose as early as possible to prevent skitzophrenia from being so disabling.
autism epidemic
Hmmm,lets see 1998...1/10,000----- 2008....1/150
2015.....1/______.yea no epidemic here.
there is more concern about the honey bees than a generation of children who are injured by something! somewhere we lost sight of whats important.
autism schizophrenia link
Let's see,
great uncle-schizophrenic, lived out life at a VA hospital after WWI pushed him off the deep end. Father, Aspergers, Uncle autistic and retarded. Brother, Paranoid schizophrenia on enough meds, according to his doctor, to knock out an elephant. Runs in families, you bet! A link between the two? Oh yeah. Wish us luck with the next generation.
both autism and schizophrenia
My son was diagnosed with both disorders...appeared autistic as a young 2 yr. old and stil does when the paranoid schiz. is not taking over... he's now 81/2, responded poorly to drug treatments as well as natural treatments. we just had to put him back on a low dose of anti-psychotics due to heavy positive symptoms...he bounces through positive, negative and autistic symptoms in rapid cycles, as the therapists tell me. I kept praying it was just autism but the hallucinations, delusions and fast regression of cognitive skills are deteriating quickly, this last psychotic break was a rough one! I look at hand writing and drawings and he is going down hill so quickly, it's heartbreaking and horrifying to watch. We are not under the care of a dr. currently because we've had to many disagreements about his long term care and medications. I just get so confused why? My husband and I are so white picket fence happy loving people and nothing makes this go away. Thanks for listening.
Chicken or Egg
Very interesting topic. I'm often taken with 'chicken or egg' phenomena in regard to illness. With schizophrenia, symptoms generally do not occur (at least not recognizably) until late adolescence or early adulthood. It's been speculated that hormonal changes trigger the symptoms in those predisposed to the disease. We know that chemistry changes the thought processes and moods of people and also that changes in environment (including things that trigger moods) cause changes in chemistry. It's difficult to completely distinguish cause and effect but it would appear as though they each influence one another. When the mood is changed through things such as meditation, the body is in a state in which healing occurs more easily. I'm not by any means suggesting that schizophrenia or autism can be cured by meditation but only accepting the fact that there are many variables and that we don't have all of the answers yet. Everything is, in fact energy and vibration. Drug therapies, radiation therapies, every type of therapy utilizes energy/ vibrations in some way. I feel like the person who mentioned energy therapy is not totally 'off' but the fact is that EVERYTHING is energy... it's what chemistry and every other aspect of physical science is about. We should remain open to everything but remain rational and critical in our analysis. :)
"that all the vaccine makers have removed thimersol from their vaccines a little telling"
yes indeed. it tells us what a litigious legal system exists in America. it's also why silicon implants were removed without any scientific data, and why products with absolutely no nut content contain "may contain nuts" labels, and why coffee gets "coffee is hot" labels.
If people who can't tell the difference between anecdotal evidence and scientific evidence would spend their time investing the excellent anecdotal evidence that rat poison boosts your immune system - instead of posting their worthless opinions all over the internet - the world would be a better place
The Mutations Exist First
Behavior cannot alter the processes in the brain and cause the same mutation in every cell in someone's body. The mutations must have been present before development occurred. Otherwise, every cell would have different mutations.
