Any reputable jeweller will use only 316 L Surgical Implant Grade Steel, or Grade 23 titanium. Which are for all intents and purposes, completely free of these toxic chemicals. Anyone getting cheap jewellery at a retail store in a mall will of course run the risk of getting inferior products, as these aren't reputable dealers. The simple solution is that these stores, such as Claires, should not be allowed to sell things which they know nothing about... They still pierce ears with a gun, which is anything but sanitary, or safe.
