freezing BPA free bottles
Can you freeze BPA bottles safely without damage either to the bottle or myself? It's HOT where I live and starting off with a frozen bottle of water is likely to last longer through the day than not.
Safe Freezing
I finally found a source for stainless steel ice cube trays, a safe way to freeze puree for my baby. It was so frustrating preparing all that wonderful food, only to have no safe options to freeze in. The store is http://www.thetickletrunk.com
They have other products I am intersted in, one step at a time.
BPA free containers for freezing (and maybe mirowaving)
I have always cooked in bulk especially when my family was young. I would freeze in family portions and then either pop the frozen food out of the mold and into a corning ware,to defrost, or leave them in their container and cook them in the oven or microwave. There were of course many times in the past, (and more now that I live alone), that I pull a portion size out of the freezer, defrost it and nuke it.
I have become more aware of the "plastics" issues and I would like to know about other types of safe plastics for freezing and microwaving and who manufactures them.
It totally makes sense
I just recently heard about the issues regarding plastics and bpa. I want to make changes throughout my family, but it is actually hard to find information. Thanks for the information you offer. One question I have is: what is the safest way to drink water in the home. I was thinking about getting a water cooler but now I'm concerned about the plastics and the build up that develops.
I Want to Be BPA free
I try to be aware, I really do. Just recently I started looking in earnest for a BPA free popcorn popper. I still haven't found a good one, and in the mean time my husband came home with an Orville Redenbacher one that I am sure is not BPA free.
Our son and his wife are having a new baby in a few days and I wonder if the baby bottles she will be using were purposely bought with no-BPA in mind. We need to get the word out more than what it already has been that BPA in your plastic cooking items is not desirable. Manufacturers should be held responsible for labels showing the BPA content that can be easily read. Everyone is affected by this unnecessary chemical in plastics.
Bpa free tableware
Here's a site that has alot of different plastic glasses and dishes, they list the bpa free ones here:

Another BPA free water bottle to add to the list
I ran across another bpa free water bottle called the Titan water bottle.
It's made out of tritan (same as nalgene's bpa free bottle) and has a built in clip and (here's the selling point) you can unclip it, drink, and reclip it with one hand.
More information is available on their website:
