Lance is a great && talented cyclist and he should not throw away his talent like that this year i am going to watch teh tour de france
Livestrong
I celebrate the return of the yellow wristbabnd, the passion for the tour, an American in the lead group. Lance has given us so much: hope, desire, persistance - a true hero - a one-name athlete that truely deservs the honor. Who were the Brazilian soccer player again? The emotional, cultural and economic impact of his return is incalcuable. Go Lance!
Return of Lance
I agree 1000% - the Tour de What ? Thats what it is without Lance. Let's face it who covered and watched the Tour this year without Lance. The last time Lance road the Tour I didnt miss a single stage - Viva l'american.
Lance is Back!
How great is this? He's done so much for the sport and influenced so many people to take up riding or just get active.
My husband and I are thrilled to see he's coming back to the tour. We love watching it, especially when Lance is in it.
And he's come back to Colorado to train. All good.
Couldn't be happier. Go Lance, Live Strong!
Good for the sport
He is good for the sport and is going to extremes to demonstrate he is doing it without drugs kudos kudos ....
Lance is a motivater
I used to watch the Tour de France 3 times a day when Lance was riding. Up early and to bed late. If you are a cyclist there is no one better than Lance to motivate you. I can't tell you how excited WE ALL ARE that he is coming back. Maybe it will make the tour come back around since it has taken a turn for the worse with all the doping since he left. I have a family that is riddled with cancer and couldn't ask for a better reason for him to ride. His heart and his mind are in the right place and I respect him. Everyone should chase their dream like he did and see what it is like before they dog him.
Do your personal best Lance and you and Johan will kick booty!
Lance's return ultra-exciting
As a cyclist and avid tour watcher, I cannot disagree more with the first comment. Lance made the Tour. His return will probably double the ratings after two or three lackluster years. I can't wait. Anyone who doesn't think this is the best thing for the tours is just too biased to see reality.
Lance returns
Boring?
If you were ever in France, on the Tour route when Lance was riding, or LeMond, or Indurain you would never say the Tour was ever boring. If you ever ride the beyond category passes (Tormelet, Col d'Izaord) you would know what they are going through; I watch it every year. It makes me ACHE to get on my bike, I want to leave work and just ride forever.
Cycling is not just a sport that people watch from a chair or grandstand; it is something we all can do if we discipline ourselves to ride.
On a lot of Sundays my wife (yes she rides with me, same distance, generally 50 miles, and sometimes she is faster) and I ride with a friend who is a Vietnam Vet, who will be 70 this November. He has shrapnel in his legs and takes blood thinning medicine. He still does these rides week in week out.
We know others who are in their 80's and still ride.
Never boring! At 55 years old these guys are still my hero's!
Lance's Return
I was hoping he would start his own U.S. professional continental team, Team Livestrong. They could seek sponsorship by the major drug companies that produce cancer treatment medicine. That would have called attention to the disease, treatment, and its prevention. He surely would have received wild card invites to races all over the world, thus getting the international exposure he wanted. He could also use the team to develop young and talented new rider from here and other countries.
But, I was disappointed. He just went back to his old team and ways.
