About The Menninger Clinic
For more than 85 years, The Menninger Clinic's staff has been a leader in providing comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for patients suffering from severe psychiatric disorders. U.S. News & World Report has ranked Menninger among the best in psychiatry for 22 consecutive years.
The treatment environment offers a supportive, less-chaotic alternative to traditional acute hospital units, as well as longer yet flexible stays.
Menninger is an affiliated teaching and research hospital for Baylor College of Medicine.
Philosophy
The collective efforts of our staff focus on improving the patient's life—medically, psychologically, and socially—for a fulfilling future.
Our psychiatrist-led clinical teams welcome each patient as an active participant. Together, they identify a patient's core issues through assessments and a prescribed mixture of group, family, and individual therapy for the patient. Equally important is the program's community, which encourages patients to learn from and support one another as peers in a safe environment.
Treatment programs integrate substance abuse and addictions treatment as well as evidence-based therapies such as DBT, CBT, and mentalizing therapy. Eating disorders programming and support, individual psychotherapy, spirituality services, a Wellness Program, and family work are some of the services the hospital provides to personalize treatment.
The adult Menninger alumni community provides social connections and resources to support a long-term recovery.
