Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH) is Florida’s leading hospital exclusively for children. The 289-bed non-profit teaching facility cares for the region’s most vulnerable children, receiving thousands of referrals of complex cases from throughout Florida, the U.S., South and Central America and the Caribbean. The hospital is home to the state’s top pediatric sub-specialists and the region’s only freestanding pediatric Trauma Center.
Founded in 1950, Miami Children’s is widely recognized as one of the best children’s hospitals in the country. Congenital Heart Institute
The Congenital Heart Institute at MCH treats some of the most complex cases in the world while maintaining one of the best survival rates. The program offers the most innovative, least invasive approaches to the treatment of congenital heart disease, including many first-in-the-world procedures pioneered by an internationally renowned team.
Miami Children's Brain Institute
Miami Children’s Brain Institute receives children from throughout the world. Many families are seeking care for children with complex brain anomalies for whom they could not secure treatment elsewhere. The program is especially renowned for its work in treating patients with epilepsy who do not respond to pharmaceutical therapies.
Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units
MCH’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit provide treatment for the region’s most critically ill neonates and children. Both units receive referrals of newborns and children with conditions requiring sophisticated management.
Orthopaedic Surgery
MCH is the region's largest provider of pediatric orthopaedic services. It offers specialties in pediatric spinal surgery, limb lengthening and sports medicine.
Cancer Center
The MCH Cancer Center is the largest provider of pediatric cancer services in the South Florida region and has achieved Approved Cancer Program status from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. The center’s Bone Marrow Transplant Program has attained Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapies certification.
