What You'll Eat
So long solid foods! For at least 10 days you’ll survive solely on salt water in the morning, herbal laxative teas at night, and lemonade concoctions throughout the day. According to www.themastercleanse.com, one of the most comprehensive Master Cleanse websites, the lemonade drinks are made from fresh lemon or lime juice, genuine organic grade B maple syrup, cayenne pepper, and distilled or purified water. You can swap out the maple syrup for freshly squeezed sugar cane juice or molasses, but no other substitutions are allowed.
Once your “cleanse” is done, you’ll gradually resume your normal diet, transitioning first with fruit juice and soup. While there’s no definition of what this “normal” diet should be, the website recommends you eat as few animal products as possible.

The Dean Ornish Diet can be tailored to your specific health issues. The strictest version is challenging because it severely reduces fat intake.
