What You'll Eat
Two days of the week you’ll be fasting and limited to 500 calories (for women) or 600 calories (for men) that should be spent on protein and plants. Opt for good protein choices, such as steamed white fish, skinless chicken, tofu, nuts, seeds, legumes and eggs. You’ll also eat lots of fruits and veggies on fasting days, given that many provide hunger-curbing fiber, nutrients and low glycemic loads. Strawberries and carrots may become go-to choices – and you should also prepare for many soup recipes courtesy of the “Fast Diet Cookbook.”
