Other diets performed as well or better in enabling fast weight loss, but long-term weight loss is more important for your health.

The panelists gave the Acid Alkaline Diet slightly higher scores for short-term weight loss than long-term, but overall, suggested steering clear. “It is likely this diet will contribute to weight loss, but not because of the acid/alkaline effects,” one expert said. “This is not a weight loss diet.”
