13 Things You Probably Didn't Know About Daylight Saving Time
When clocks spring forward, people lose sleep, have more heart attacks, and might not even save energy

This whole thing is wrong. Your body has to adjust to this change twice a year. It does not take much energy in the morning when you are getting ready for work or school but it takes a whole lot more of energy to run your household in the evening when it gets dark at 6 oclock. Please leave it alone. It worked for millions of years so why does it not work now? Origional time that is.
i hate daylight savings time
it is ridiculous that it is actually observed on such a large scale. the whole idea is preposterous.
people should look at changing their schedules if they are unhappy with where their daylight is. if daylight savings time is truly better for a particular region, than change the time zone. And quit using the term "daylight savings time" God that sounds retarded.
DST
leave our standard time alone. there's plenty of daylight time in the summer. leave it alone!!!!!!
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME
Pick one or the other. I am tired of turning my clocks back and forth every year for this. Being that 8+ months of the year are DST we should use DST. I am not changing my clooks back this year for 4 months. This whole nonsence of spring forward, fall back needs to end. My supprot for president in 2012 will be the one who ends DST once and for all.
Daylight saving time
Absolutely unnecessry. Should be abolished. Extended light hours is unnecessary. Farm machinery is equipped with light and air conditioning. If darkness interfers with work, change starting time.

DST - Split the difference - and keep it year 'round
How you view DST depends partially on where you live. Those that live on the far eastern side of your time zone typically think it's great. But, for those of us on the far western side of our timezone, we already basically live in daylight saving time - and are pushed back an hour earlier when DST really starts. The sun rises almost 1 hour later on the western side of timezones vs. the eastern side.
For me, I didn't mind DST until I had kids in school. Now when DST starts we have to get up 1.5 hours before the sun comes up, and my son is walking to school in the dark with a flashlight. It's quite a sight to see hundreds of children stumbling toward school in the dark with flashlights. Surely this is not what Congress had in mind.
I live in Austin, which is on the western side of the Central time zone.
Perhaps the best solution is to split the difference, as this article discusses below

Also, I can't believe DST saves energy, as we now need to run the heater to get the house warm in the cold pre-dawn hours - not to mention all the lights that are needed for hours in the morning.

Wrong time zone
All well and good to be for DST if you live in the right time zone. On the other hand, Indiana is geographically in the Central Time Zone but has been placed in the Eastern Zone, so we observe double daylight time. That means kids go to school and people go to work in the dark all year. If we're put in the right time zone, I think you'd hear less complaining from Hoosiers.
