Preventing Infertility
In many cases, infertility cannot be prevented. Since the most common cause of infertility is maternal age, women who try to get pregnant when they are young have fewer problems with infertility, but this is not always a practical option.
Sexually transmitted diseases are a common cause of fallopian tube damage. Being in a monogamous relationship and using male condoms are the most reliable ways to decrease the risk of STDs, and thus pelvic inflammatory disease, in sexually active women.
Losing weight can improve the chances of getting pregnant.
